Scheduled to air in the second half of 2023, The Day of the Kidnapping is a sentimental buddy thriller that portrays the unique collaboration between an inept kidnapper and an 11-year-old genius girl. The story follows the unexpected and delightful pursuit of truth by the mismatched duo, consisting of a bumbling and flawed kidnapper and a sharp and chic prodigy girl, offering a different kind of excitement and emotion.

At the script reading held on this day, director Park Yoo Young and writer Kim Je Yeong were present, along with actors Yoon Kye Sang, Park Sung Hoon, Yu Na, Kim Shin Rok, Kim Sang Ho, Seo Jae Hee, Kang Young Seok, and other talented actors. The actors seamlessly embodied their characters, delivering flawless performances and creating a heated atmosphere at the reading.

First, Yoon Kye Sang showcased his transformation as the clumsy and weak-hearted kidnapper, Kim Myung Joon, with a touch of genius. He dynamically portrayed Kim Myung Joon, who attempts the kidnapping to cover his daughter's medical expenses but ends up being pursued as a murder suspect, raising the level of immersion.

Park Sung Hoon delivered a remarkable performance as Park Sang Yoon, a detective with quick judgment and a cold analytical mind. As he tracks the kidnapping case intertwined with Kim Myung Joon (Yoon Kye Sang) and gets closer to the truth, Park Sung Hoon depicts the character's subtle transformation when confronted with unexpected secrets, proving his value as a trustworthy actor.

Yu Na, who secured the role of Choi Ro Hee amidst fierce competition, showcased her solid acting skills despite her young age, turning everyone's expectations into confidence. Choi Ro Hee is a genius girl who has lost her memory but possesses an extraordinary and calm intellect beyond her age. Yu Na, who played the role of Choi Ro Hee, who must form a peculiar bond with the kidnapper Kim Myung Joon, shared, "It was fun to have great chemistry with Yoon Kye Sang as if 'thump' goes with 'thud,'" attracting attention.

Kim Shin Rok exuded a charismatic presence as Seo Hye Eun, the ex-wife of the enigmatic Kim Myung Joon. Seo Hye Eun, who suddenly disappears from Kim Myung Joon and their daughter's side, becomes the mastermind proposing the kidnapping of Choi Ro Hee (played by Yu Na), which sets the beginning of all the incidents.

Additionally, Kim Sang Ho injected tension into the drama as Park Cheol Won, a security company employee, while Seo Jae Hee, who played the role of Mo Eun Seon, a neurosurgeon, and Kang Young Seok, who portrayed Jayden, a fund manager, emitted a mysterious presence hidden behind their characters.
