Park Hae Soo in talks to reunite with Jeon Do Yeon in a new thriller mystery K-drama
Youn Yuh Jung, Son Ye Jin, and Kang Ha Neul might work together for the upcoming drama "The Tree Dies Standing."
Several media reports reveal on September 29th, Youn Yuh Jung together with Song Ye Jin and Kang Ha Neul will return to the small screens with the series "The Tree Dies Standing." The drama will be directed by Jo Seung Geol ("Midnight Runners") and it will reportedly air on a global OTT platform.
Youn Yuh Jung's agency Hook Entertainment responded to the reports, stating that it is one of the works that the actress is currently reviewing.
"The Tree Dies Standing" will depict the story of a man who will act as the defector grandson in order to fulfill the last wish of an elderly grandmother who was born in North Korea.
Youn Yuh Jung got the offer to play the role of Geum Soon. She's in her 90s and she is the founder of Hotel Paradise, the leading hotel chain in Korea. Son Ye Jin and Kang Ha Neul got the offer to play as her grandchildren.
"The Tree Dies Standing" aims to premiere in the second half of 2022.
Youn Yuh Jung is set to appear in the upcoming Apple TV series "Panchiko" with Lee Min Ho. They recently finished filming for the upcoming drama. The renowned actress last starred in the drama "Never Twice" in 2019. She will also join the upcoming movie "Heaven: To the Land of Happiness" and "Dog Days."
If Son Ye Jin accepts the offer to star in "The Tree Dies Standing," this will be her second drama for 2022. She is also going to lead the upcoming series "Thirty-Nine" with Jeon Mi Do and Kim Ji Hyun.
This drama will possibly be the second drama of Kang Ha Neul for 2022 as well. The actor will also take star in the upcoming JTBC series "Insider." He will also take part in several movies such as "The Pirates: Goblin Flag," "Streaming," "Happy New Year," and "Dream."
