It's possible. Nobody picked them.

Added you.

Hello Yuanwei, I'd like to pick the Korean dramas.

Do we take on one page of the link or multiple pages at once?

You mean the spot that is still empty for Korean dramas (they are web dramas btw)?

There are only 48 titles to check and submit as needed so you can take them all.

Yep that spot.

Quick question, the guidelines on translation says : "Using machine translations, such as Google Translate, for synopses is strictly forbidden. If MyDramaList wanted machine translations, we would have added an automatic translator."

So things such as DeepL or AI translations are also forbidden in the case where we find the synopses in the original language instead of english?

I was wondering about this too, as I thought as AI translations were against the rules. But there are some entries that say:

(Source: Chinese = Douban || Translation = Google Translate)

If you read what I've wrote for this project, it says translations tools can be used as long as it makes sense and it's correct. The main guidelines haven't been updated for a while (we are working on new ones).

My bad, I totally glossed over it. I'll reread and comprehend, so you can put the dagger away now (jk jk)

Thank you~

Yuanwei:
If there is no episode synopsis, look for one from an official source (such as Netflix, Viki, Disney+, or an official broadcaster's website), from other sources (such as IMDb, TVDb, etc.) or write one yourself. If writing your own synopsis, aim for 2–5 clear sentences summarizing the main events of the episode.

I just need some clarification. From what I've understand, this means I can write the summary myself, based on my understanding from watching the episode (if I watch the series). But the approval staff might not watch it, so how should I support my points? Is it acceptable to cite any related articles, like review pages, and edit them?

Yes, you can write the episode summary yourself. You can explain you wrote it yourself after watching the episode, or you can provide a link to the episode or timestamps to support your summary, or you can provide any type of source.

We are not as strict with the episode summaries as we are with title synopses because we know it is impossible for us to watch every single one to make sure. So this part is more about trusting that users will submit the correct summaries.

However, please do not get this the wrong way. Episode summaries that are incorrect sometimes are obvious they are not correct and if sth does indeed pass by us, then other users are gonna correct them later.

Just a little PSA:

When submitting the episode synopses, please make sure:

  1. That the characters' names match the ones from the Cast list, this is especially important for: a. Taiwan, because some official sites will have their names in Pinyin (Chinese romanization) and not the romanization used for Taiwan; b. Korea, because not all sites use the Korean Revised romanization. So please make sure to read the main guidelines for the names. (Note: Just please be aware that the romanization for Korean names hasn't been updated to the correct one yet for all titles before 2026.)

  2. The "-" should be removed from their names.

  3. Please make sure to leave an empty row between the synopsis and the source line.

  4. The source line should be as follows, depending on the case:

  • (Source: insert site name)

  • (Source: insert site name; edited by MyDramaList)

  • (Source: insert site name; edited by insert username at MyDramaList)

  • (Source: insert username + social media)

  • (Source: MyDramaList)

  • (Source: insert username at MyDramaList)

  • (Source: insert language = insert site name || Translation = MyDramaList)

  • (Source: insert language = insert site name || Translation = insert username at MyDramaList)

Hope I didn't forget anything. Do let me know if you have questions or if you need some concrete examples for the source line.

I can take up the second slot for Thailand standard series 💗
