I don’t know where people are getting the poisoning theory from but some commentators on Viki in both the Red Sleeve and The Jewel in the Crown have commented that it was the Step-Grandmother Queen that poisoned Jeongjo.

I think poisoning makes a better drama - even if it didn't really happen.

How long ago was the interview? Maybe it was before they added ep17 so hooe it’s the last episode.

True that. I also saw that there were scenes in ep 11 that were intended for 10. So it looks like the extension may have been more in the middle rather than the end? So much speculation, I wanna know but I also don't wanna know lol

I think they extended it to make the sad ending more solid.

I hope they didn’t change it either but maybe added the epitaph and afterlife? They didn’t have the epitaph in the Yi-San version. I jumped to the ending just to see and was disappointed it wasn’t there.
