Japan is doing fabulous on their GLs. It's becoming a bit steady too. Not continuous, or many, but the wait isnt super long from the end of one and the announcement of another. And rather diverse too. Cozy Tsukutabe, toxic relationship development (from my understanding) Chaser Game W, humorous AyaHiro, and soon to be angsty Fragrance You Inherit

And their animeverse has tons of s.ai, yuri, strong subtext animes, produced previously and also continuously being adapted from mangas. What is your feedback about Taiwanese scene? They keep making short, cryptic lesbian content here and there though they have no restrictions. Even Chinese productions with all their shackles do better than them.

I havent been pleased with Taiwan GLs actually. Which is sad, bc i  quite adore Taiwanese BLs.

I didn't like Dear Uranus
I  absolutely loved Fall For You... until the big reveal that theyre actually related.
Hate hate hate hate with a passion Handsome Stewardess
Shall We Dance didn't really deliver anything
Wedding was great, though did confuse me at moments
One Summer's Day (sapphic, not GL) was good, but unfortunately, in hindsight, quite forgettable.
I remember liking We Are Gamily, but it's been so many years that i really need to rewatch.

I've received some recs for good taiwanese GLs but aint watched them yet. Either bc i havent been in the mood or bc theyre no longer available on GagaOOlala like they used to.

In my head, a Hijra In Between sequel wouldve been a great GL (the MC is intersex and was forced to transition to male, but does seem to still consider themself as a woman). But we will never know.

Sorry I gave the wrong name, I forgot the name actually, but the movie is about stunt double, the lesbian couple broke up in the past, one is an actress and another stunt double, they meet again and both had a ocean kiss scene.

To compensate for my unintentional mistake, have two more on your PTW :P

The stunt double movie is called The Substitute.

I like We Are Gamily, but it is a little rough around the edges. Since it's set in China, the producers felt like the bit part actors have to mention life lessons from Mao's Red Book and that's kinda jarring. The GL and BL couples were cute though and I felt the relationship with the mother character was done well.
