Recently I started using Google Gemini and ChatGPT to get recommendations on things to watch.

For example:

I ask them both the same question when looking for dramas. Like if I am looking for a new BL drama I put in the box.

Give me BL drama recommendations like these ones: then I copy and paste my completed list

But exclude these ones from the list: then I copy and paste my plan to watch list.

Then they give me ones that are not on either list to add and watch.

I will probably do with this with both my list, my non BL and my BL once I get them down to probably between 25 to 50 shows and movies to watch since they are both well over 100.

What do you think of this approach to finding new shows and movies to watch? Do you think it works better then asking and hoping someone will respond like on here?

Thanks.

I see where youre coming from with this. However, personally, I think it is very unnecessary, especially in the age of social media. You can use youtube, IG, TikTok, MDL (you can look for specific tags and genres), Reddit (maybe even smth like letterboxd where you can filter out things you have already seen in your search)... Sure, AI is developing or whatever (but at what cost? Water use, displacing communities to build data centers...), so maybe theyll pump out accurate and helpful recommendations some day but, in my opinion, nothing beats a thoughtful suggestion made by a human that has seen multiple shows. I think many here are very happy to help or use the "recommendation" feature religiously (like me lol) so why bother with AI. Do you really need a recommendations so badly and readily available with a watchlist thats pretty long and cant wait on somebody replying to you? I dont mean this as an offense, sorry it may come of this way. Kind regards
