I was thinking this sounds like a quintessential English dinner and delicious!

The nights are beginning to feel fall-like even if the days are still hot.  Could not wait any longer

Butternut Squash with a basil-pecan pesto sort of topping to drizzle on.

For dessert I used my Dylan Hollis cookbook and made Pecan Dainties.  Just three ingredients:  Egg white (beaten until stiff), brown sugar, and pecans.  Baked in a low temp oven.  Came out pretty good.^^

chili chicken with steamed rice

Chicago Dog with the usual toppings, minus the celery salt, with a bottle of Coca Cola from south of the border and tater tots...

 daydreaming:

chili chicken with steamed rice

Sounds good.  I had left over soup with biscuits.

I had errands to run this morning. Because it’s college football game day I brought lunch home. Tempura shrimp, pulled pork, rice.

Carnitas Street Tacos, Refried Beans, Spanish Rice and Mexican Coca Cola

Tried a new recipe I came across. Salsa Verde Chicken with Herbed Cornmeal Dumplings

I cooked my own chicken instead of rotisserie and used broth I’d made instead of canned.  Also substituted parsley for cilantro because hubby isn’t crazy about it.  Not bad. Had a nice little kick to it.  Served it with thinly sliced greens sautéed with caramelized onions and a little chicken broth.

I ordered pizza today,  that's the best solution for me
