Hikone recommendations

Hi friendos,

Has anyone visited the area of Hikone, Shiga Prefecture before? Besides Hikone Castle, can anyone recommend things to do and places to eat? I will be visiting my sister for 2 weeks in May and will need to entertain myself whilst she is at work. I've been googling the area, but would much rather personally recommendations.
