There are also the several reports at alibaba where several of the executives not being accused basically downplayed  several of the company's allegations in public, which lead to even more backlashes

You mean the case where the victim reported assult  on the Alibaba company chat group and was fired for it?

There's a lot of articles related to this "Alibaba fires employee who accused a manager of sexual assault "

Prosecutors in China have dropped a case against a former Alibaba employee accused of sexual assault:

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-china-58471978

Lawyers in north-eastern Shandong province said the "forcible indecency" committed by the man, identified as Wang, was not a crime. (Even the lawyers admitted to it. TF! So it's light rape and not rape at all.  Like WTF!!!)

Alibaba had earlier said the man accused of rape had admitted that "there were intimate acts" while the woman was "inebriated".  (TF! TBQH, That's still assault since there's no consent! )

"the police investigation showed that [the woman] drank about 350 millilitres of alcohol the previous night but no one forced her to drink excessively." She accused her superiors of ordering her to drink alcohol with co-workers during dinner.  (The police blaming her! Have we not seen dramas where employees are forced to drink? Real life people are forced to drink, so wtf police!)

Yeah this was an uncomfortable story to read back then.  Unlike the JD story where the victim was slowly silenced into oblivion the Alibaba one had the leaders of the company publicly tear down the victim.

Yeah that was a huge disgrace.  I never go business drinking in China unless I have at least 1 or 2 people people who have my back with me.

In the JD case, what was puzzling was she stayed. 1 female and 12 man already sounds ominous. No obligation to stay.

Forced to drink. Job jeopardy?

Took the man home at night. That statement is also damaging and blemishing. He didn’t know she live alone. Knocked at neighbor's door. Get help.
