I used to love them so much but since they started to get more recognition internationally, their style has changed a lot and I think their songs are a bit too generic now..

Are they your first intro to J-rock?

If so, they there bands as well: Uverworld, Flow, Scandal, Aimer (solo singer - closer to ballad rock), and Luck Life.

There's more... but those are the ones I can think of the top of my head. If you like ONE OK ROCK more recent songs (from latest album), maybe Aimer, Scandal and Flow would suit your taste better.
