i like showing pics of visual kei bands to people who aren't familiar with jrock and watching their expressions haha.

i don't think Miyavi's change of style has to do with him having a family, i think it's because of the kind of tour he's doing. it's a very intimate personal type concert of just him and a drummer and the songs are more emotional that some of the goofy cutesy stuff he's done in the past. his last tour he was still kinda punked out and he had both kids at that point i think.

lol same XDD

his tour in 2009 was awesome *__* when some girl fainted in the audience (don't know if it was because of miyavi's hotness or the bad air in the concert hall) and ppl had to back up to give sum space for the guards to cpr her and they yelled to back up and audience didn't. when Miyavi said "back up i need sum space for ma boobs" they backed a LOT XD
haha that's great
i really wanted to go see him when he played in Toronto and the tickets were cheap, but it was bad timing and just didn't happen :( i hope he comes back to the area again sometime
I think he has changed his style because he's like "growing up" hates to say it, but he is actually 29. Almost 30. And he's awesome whatever his wearing ;) But I still don't like that that he took out his piercings... -.-' even though the reasons was quite understandable.

forgot to mention that I LOVE hide. Even though he has been dead for 13 years... HOW did I forget him? O.O
he took out his piercings? like even the lip ring? *dies*

this randomly popped into my head a few minutes ago actually. as much as i love MYV's newer stuff i still really like his old stuff too..

Yes. All piercings. Gone. *poff* But the tattoos is still there :D

that makes me so sad. i live for that lip ring.
haven't seen that vid before love his hair there yay :) i really find the vocals on the new album sound more like the old grungy vk stuff like this, maybe that's why i love it lol. except that the music is more simple of course with just guitar and drums. i guess he really wanted to put the focus on his guitar which is amazing but songs like Unbreakable and Gravity and Survive remind me of his old angrier style :D looooove

Yuu.. are you into L'Arc-En-Ciel? they have a new single coming out. here's a radio rip, check it out quick before it gets taken down hahaha http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZfaaT7_868&
Not really and actually the only work I like by Hyde is his Countdown and Faith albums. I tried getting into VAMPS but it just wasn't the same....but thanks for the info

Yeah, I saw Gravity live (When myv-sama was in Stockholm, Sweden in April) and it was the first time ever I felt like crying on a concert. It was so damn beautiful! And, in some way, I think it's cool that he focuses so much on his guitar. He's so awesome so he doesn't actually need anything else that the guitar and his wonderful voice! :) ...But I really miss his piercings... Especially the lip ring ;_;

@Yuri-chan; I tried VAMPS too... I think they have made like 5 good songs... And the rest of them is just really boring... Big disappointment, seems like HYDE and KAZ should be able to do something better together... <.<
yeah i don't like vamps as much as his older stuff but i think Hyde could start singing country or lounge and i'd still listen to it, i love his voice no matter what he's singing.
but i still prefer L'Arc over his solo and vamps stuff. i think Ken is a great guitarist and Yuki is an awesome drummer, i don't really think the bass stands out but oh well hahaha poor Tetsu but anyway the 4 of them together are amazing, any of them solo is kinda meh. they started my Jrock obsession but lately i listen to more Miyavi i think.

which reminds me here's an english interview, no piercings waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!! he looks so different. and with the dark hair and the clothes he just looks weird, not like the happy bubbly MYV we know and love, at all. (watch part 2 also he talks a bit about visual kei means to him)

oops you posted this while i was typing my post so i didn't see it lol.

waaaaah you're so lucky to have seen Miyavi live, i'm so jealous. Gravity gives me goosebumps no matter how many times i hear it. especially live videos of it

re: Vamps:
yeah i expect a lot more from vamps also. when i was talking to my brother in law's girlfriend from Japan about music and mentioned them she said "really?? nobody in Japan cares about Hyde anymore" that made me so sad. i really was afraid when they became vamps instead of just "hyde" that it would ruin his solo career, cause a vampire-themed band just seems lame lol
Oh! An interview I haven't seen! I can't say that I think he's cute anymore. But in some way I understand this "growing up"-process. He's got a family now and I think he's focusing more on the actual music than his appearance. I'll still be a devoted MYV fan. Whatever he does with this face... ;)
same here^
just like i still like Hyde with stupid blond hair that doesn't suit him hahaha
from this interview it seems like he's making a statement. he says visual kei isn't just about the makeup and clothes, if there's no musical integrity it's pointless. maybe he feels lately like he's not taken seriously as a musician because of having the visual kei label (cause let's face it, i love VK but there are some bands out there that aren't that great and focus more on their look than anything else, a pretty band/artist and over the top stage performance sells tickets even if the music is crap)
so if it's that, then i agree with him. i'd still go to his shows without all the makeup and costumes and glitzy stage effects because his music is amazing. but sometimes it's cool to go to a concert with all the glitz and just enjoy a crazy eyecatching performance. different forms of entertainment that's all. and it depends on what the artist is known for too.. i went and saw Metallica, not because i'm a huge fan of them, but because i knew it would be an amazing concert, and it was. if i had paid the same amount of money and got there and found out it was an acoustic unplugged performance i'd still enjoy it but i'd feel a little ripped off lol

I didn't see your last post either ^^'
I've always loved Gravity. And when he did it live he had just been talking about the earthquake (and he was crying ;_;) and said like: "this song is about the earth" and it was so sad. And it made the feeling of the song TOTALLY different. So now, the song has more depth than before...
And I think so too. I think he wants to focus on, and be liked for, the music he does. Not his extreme appearance. But when I saw him live he still showed a lot of the old mischievous miyavi, even though he was more serious than before. I think. Only seen him live once. Met a girl who saw him on his last tour too. I was jealous! D:

And it makes me so sad that "no one cares about HYDE anymore". I've never been a super fan of his music, but he's really cute. And I really like him in Moon Child ^^ and when he sings in the moon child soundtrack...
