Shi Qi looked at Xiao Liu “A person cannot choose their birth, even if we are unwilling, we must accept it.” Shi Qi smiled warmly, a clear and gentle smile “If a heart is like a clean moon, even in the darkened clouds it will pass and the moon will return.”

1. Birth and Acceptance:

   • The statement "A person cannot choose their birth, even if we are unwilling, we must accept it" touches on the fundamental aspect of life that is beyond our control. Birth, in this context,  symbolize the circumstances and conditions into which an individual is born – be it social status, family, or even personal predispositions. The inquiry into whether the lord's heart can be clear like the moon and shine on the lady's tainted heart delves into the potential for positive influence and redemption through love. The moon serves as a central metaphor, weaving together these themes :) . We already covered the starry night and the wishing sky for Xiao Liu and Jing in previous analysis. Pointing at their dipest wishes - and their destiny. And now as Xiao Liu is to re-embrace her appearance => the Moon / the feminity and her heart.

Xiao Liu pointed to her heart and asked half in jest half serious “But if the lady’s heart is tainted, then will my lord’s heart be clear like the moon and shine it on the lady’s heart.”  

1. Pointing to Her Heart:

   • Xiao Liu physically gestures to her heart, symbolizing a direct and personal connection to her emotions and inner self. The heart, in various cultures, is often associated with emotions, love, and the core of one's being.

2. Lady’s Tainted Heart:

   • The idea of the lady having a tainted heart introduces a symbol of impurity or darkness,  caused by negative experiences, regrets, or moral conflicts. It symbolizes the complex nature of human emotions and the potential for emotional scars.

3. Lord’s Heart Clear Like the Moon:

   • The lord's heart being compared to the clear moon symbolizes purity, enlightenment, and emotional transparency. This suggests that the lord embodies qualities of clarity, calmness, and  a higher understanding, akin to the serene and luminous moon.

4. Shining on the Lady’s Heart:

   • The act of the lord's heart shining on the lady's tainted heart symbolizes the transformative power of love. It suggests that the positive qualities within the lord have the potential to bring light, clarity, and healing to the lady's troubled or tainted emotions. This imply redemption and the ability of love to overcome darkness, and the complications.

5. Moonlight as Illumination:

   • The moonlight here serves as a metaphor for the illuminating and transformative power of love. Just as the moonlight gently illuminates the darkness, the lord's love has the potential to bring understanding, acceptance, and emotional healing to the lady. This is Jing's power to her.

6. Jest and Seriousness:

   • Xiao Liu's question being half in jest and half serious adds complexity. On one hand, there's a lighthearted or playful element,  indicating a familiarity or comfort in discussing such matters. On the other hand, the serious aspect implies a genuine concern or curiosity about the potential impact of emotions on the dynamics between the lord and the lady.

7. Dual Nature of Emotions:

   • The dual nature of the question reflects the inherent dualities in emotions – light and darkness, jest and seriousness. It suggests that emotions are multi-faceted and can be both complex and simple, depending on the emotional context, wich is very rich for her in this chapter (10). 

Between the lord and the lady, there emerges a metaphorical journey — a tender exploration of emotional healing and the delicate prospect of redemption. Love, depicted as a genuine and clear-hearted force, becomes the gentle yet powerful catalyst for the possibility of illuminating even the darkest corners of the heart. 

The comparison of Jing's heart to the clear moon signifies not just purity but a luminosity that possesses the ability to transcend the darkness , be it in her own heart.

Chapter 11  : A Grand Gathering For What Time.

 XiaoLiu and Tu Shan Jing parts 

 Xiao Liu ran to sit on the ground, basking in the sun, and squinting at the boats coming and going on the river. A boat passed the river, a man in blue sitting in the bow, with his back to Xiao Liu, and another man in blue was enjoying the scenery on the shore.
The familiar back made Xiao Liu immediately recognize that it was Jing. Xiao Liu knew that he could not see himself, so he stared at him blatantly.
Jing suddenly turned his head and looked over at the shore. Xiao Liu didn't move and still sat lazily and looked at him lazily. Xiao Liu didn't know if Jing had seen him. He only saw that the boat was gradually moving away, and a touch of blue gradually disappeared into the bustling world.
He knew that she was in Chishui City, and she also knew that he was in Chishui City, but he could no longer wave his hand and shout at Seventeen like in Qingshui Town, and he would appear beside him.
Xiao Liu didn't know how long he had been sitting. Anyway, the people basking in the sun around him had changed a few times. Someone came over again and sat gently next to Xiao Liu, and the familiar herbs floated faintly. Xiao Liu didn't look back, because he knew that even if he saw the face, it was fake. She watched the boat passing by with a smile, with some joy in her heart.
After a long time, Xiao Liu asked in a low voice, "Aren't you afraid that people will follow you?"
"My ancestors are foxes. Only I track others, and few people can track me."
Xiao Liu remembered that the first time he was captured by Xiang Liu, he found her, and the second time he was caught in the dungeon by Yanxuan. It was also he who found her. He seemed to be really good at tracking.
Xiao Liu asked, "Didn't you go to the game?"..............................................................................................

Xiao Liu stopped talking. Seventeen silently accompanied Xiao Liu to bask in the sun. Although Xiao Liu never looked back, he could always smell the fragrance of herbs on his body, which was peaceful.
Until the sunset shone on the river, Seventeen whispered, "I have to go. When will you go back?"

"It's time for me to go back, too."
"Then you go first."
There was a trace of warm ripples in Xiao Liu's heart, "Okay!" She stood up, walked along the river bank, and slowly walked back to the posthouse. Because she knew that someone had been looking at her, the original journey of a person seemed to have always been accompanied by someone. There was no loneliness, but always a kind of warmth. But the person who saw her leave only tasted that she was gradually moving away, and the seventeenth chose to leave the warmth to her....................................................

Xiao Liu suddenly felt that someone had been looking at her. Looking at her intuitively, it was a VIP seat. Because there was a low curtain, he couldn't see anyone. Xiao Liu asked quietly, "Whose position is over there?"
He glanced at it and said, "Tu Shanshi."
Xiao Liu was silent for a while, then suddenly smiled and muttered, "You didn't let me promise not to socialize with men or talk to men for 15 years."...............................................................

............................Chishui, Xiling, Tushan and Guifang walked in turn. Jing and Fengfeng came side by side. When they passed by, Fengfeng slowly paced and smiled and greeted them. Jing took a closer look and looked at his hand on Xiao Liu's shoulder. He squeezed the corners of his lips and didn't say anything, but just lowered his head.

We see in these moments between them is that it is natural. No need of a 3rd party ( voodoo bug ) for them to connect. They long for each other . We see how Jing 's presence next to her is affecting Xiao Liu. His presence always moves her heart  as it is described :  some joy in her heart,   warm ripples  in  Xiao Liu 's heart .  

We also see that Jing carried the herbal pouch Xiao Liu made for him.  This is a way to carry Xiao  liu with him all the time. The scent of the herbs  is now imprinted on Jing . It is now on him and it is bringing  peace to Xiao Liu, it brings her comfort, calm.   Xiao Liu 's  heart is moved with warmth when Jing  is sending her off, looking at for her  go leaving the feeling of warmth that such and act leave with her. But Jing on the other  hand is  standing alone. 

As the events in story progresses  we see that Jing is getting jealous at the other man talking with ~Xiao Liu.  the realisation of this again  bring smile Xiao Liu. She is happy that Jing is jealous. The man she longs for is jealous of her chatting with another man.

In conclusion we  see that Xiao Liu who had in previous chapters claimed that her heart was  look and could not be moved  is having her heart being moved by Jing. Warmth is entering her heart.

Part 2

Abstract 

When Xiao Liu ate something delicious, she would buy more for Zhuan Xu and Ah Nian, but Ah Nian complained that it was dirty so wouldn’t eat, and then neither would Hai Tang. Zhuan Xu would take big bites and enjoy it happily, and when Ah Nian saw them both enjoying their food she wanted to try some but couldn’t bring herself to ask after she turned it down already. She could only stare at them.

Perhaps it was due Zhuan Xu and the Grand Emperor, but lately Xiao Liu was rather fond of Ah Nian and knew exactly what was on her mind. She took a piece and neatly peeled off the exterior and handed it to Ah Nian while coaxing her “Try it, the inside isn’t dirty at all.”

Ah Nian said no until Xiao Liu urged her a few more times and then she accepted reluctantly. The food on the street was always unique unlike anything in the Palace, and girls always loved to enjoy something delicious, so Ah Nian was quickly fond of the street snacks and started happily trying them out along with Hai Tang and Xiao Liu.

The four of them ate, played, shopped, and was very happy.

Xiao Liu knew how to pick a ship and took a glance around at all the boats docked and selected a very nicely tended one and negotiated a price with the boat master. She then sent the boat master off to buy some vegetables, fruits, and alcohol from another boat and brought it over.

The four of them got on the boat and everyone watched Xiao Liu busy at work. Hai Tang wanted to help but Xiao Liu shooed her away and borrowed a net and tossed it overboard and pulled back some fish, a couple of shrimps and crabs. Xiao Liu prepped the seafood and pulled out some herbs from inside her robe and seasoned the caught seafood.

Ah Nian asked about the clams Xiao Liu promised and Xiao Liu said “Whether we get some depends on you.”

“Me?”

Xiao Liu pointed to the lake “Can you split the water for me, it doesn’t need to be very wide.”

“That’s easy.”

Ah Nian may be spoiled but her powers weren’t low. She put her hand in the water and the water split open to show the bottom of the lake. Xiao Liu jumped into the water with a basket and walked along the lake floor picking up clams.

This was the first time Ah Nian caught her own food so she was super excited and yelled “Over there, I see a big one.”

Xiao Liu walked in the direction Ah Nian pointed and indeed found a huge clam under a rock.

Xiao Liu got back on the boat and put the clams in front of Ah Nian “You caught this so I’ll cook it for you.”

Ah Nian asked “When can we eat?”

Zhuan Xu pulled Xiao Liu over next to the fire and took a towel to dry her hair “Are you cold? Drink some wine.”

Hai Tang brought over some wine and Xiao Liu drank a few sips and instantly warmed up. She waved “Stop, stop, I’ll be grilling so I’ll be plenty hot soon!”

The four sat around the grill and started cooking and eating the clams. Ah Nian copied Xiao Liu and started spreading seasoning, and whether it was the fresh clams being delicious or her own cooking, but Ah Nian felt she had never eaten such delicious clams in her entire life.

Xiao Liu ate some clams and after her clothes were dry, she took out the three fish she cleaned earlier and wrapped them in lotus leaves before placing them to the side to slowly roast.

The four ate and laughed and the night passed until the moon was high overhead.

There were other boats on the lake and the delicious scent of roasting fish wafted from their boat and many passerbys on other boats offered to buy it from them. Ah Nian turned them all down “We have just enough for us to eat.”

Zhuan Xu said to Xiao Liu “Whatever cooking method you used, even people who are sick and tired of eating this kind of fish like Ah Nian and myself are actually eager to try it.”

Xiao Liu giggled “Secret recipe, not for divulging.” She was really not boasting, she had long since memorized all the herbs and concoctions in the world and used the taste and smell of it for cooking spices rather than making medicine. She found many unique mixes that guaranteed the food she cooked was one of a kind.

Ah Nian's Power and the Food

I think this scene was just fun. I like how Zhuan Xu and Xiao Liu were easy going and enjoying street food. It is like they were enjoying this ordinary life at the tournament.
 Even when Ah Nian was such a brat I liked how she showed off her power by dividing the lake and Xiao Liu got the fish for cooking.
The particular scene show Xiao Liu's cooking skills apart from medicine and poison making. 

More Abstract 

A fog rose in the lake and enveloped the ship just as the sound of a zither playing surrounded them. The tune was especially lovely with the fog surrounding them, but the tune appeared to be moving further and further away from them. Xiao Liu sighed “The tune is being faint.”

Zhuan Xu said “If you want to keep on listening to it, it’s not hard for me to make it happen.”

Xiao Liu laughed “Are you going to yell at her to come back? Even I wouldn’t dare do that.”

Ah Nian nudged Hai Tang and she quickly took out a flute from their belongings and handed it to Zhuan Xu. Ah Nian said to Xiao Liu “My dad is a master at music and he taught Gege everything about it. Gege might not be the equal of the incomparable Young Master of Qing Qiu Tu Shan Jing, but otherwise he’s impressive.”

Zhuan Xu brought the flute to his lips and started whistling the tune. It was the same as the one played by the zither, but with changes so that it become a companion piece that was full of playful casualness. Even a music novice like Xiao Liu could tell it was amazing and the zither player definitely thought so as well because the zither tune started getting louder and blending in harmony with the flute. The two were playing and testing each other, the sounds of the flute and zither dancing in the fog, soaring high and then dipping low. Gradually the zither tune appeared to be subdued by the flute tune and followed along in perfect synchronicity.

Ah Nian got more and more annoyed and suddenly grabbed the flute. The tune stopped abruptly but Zhuan Xu wasn’t angry and gently asked “What’s wrong?”

The zither lost the flute and appeared to be seeking its counterpart and sounded lonely in the fog.

Ah Nian felt her heart was uneasy and said “I don’t want to listen anymore.” Xiao Liu lowered her head and muffled her grin, going back to eating her crab.

The zither played for a bit longer and after hearing no response from the flute, appeared to get angry and suddenly stopped as well.

The Song of Zither and Flute

Within the lonely fog scene the sound of zither was added. Zhuan Xu was made played flute by Ah Nian. 

His flute sound aglined with zither music. It is explained even who was novice at music like Xiao Liu could tell how much this combination made beautiful tune. This again annoyed Ah Nian and she made Zhuan Xu stopped. 
The zither player also stopped playing angrily. 

This particular scene might be telling us Zhuan Xu and the zither player may get to involved in life. There could be something that made them compatible as the combination sound of zither and flute. Nevertheless Zhuan Xu might not be able play along with her to end. 

And another thing about this scene is how much Xiao Liu was not that good in music. Because it is well known Jing is master of music. This is again showing the attraction came to not only between those with same interest and skills in life.

Chapter 11

Part 4

Abstract 

The next day, Xiao Liu slept til noon and found the entire residence empty as everyone went to watch the tournament. She didn’t feel like stoking the kitchen fires so ran off to eat street food.

She ate two bowls of clam leek soup and afterwards sat under the riverbank wall under the sun watching the activity on the river. A boat passed with a green robed man sitting with his back to Xiao Liu and he was enjoyed the view beside a blue robed man. The familiar figure was instantly recognizable as Jing, and since he couldn’t see Xiao Liu, then Xiao Liu stared at him directly.

Jing suddenly turned his head and looked at the shore. Xiao Liu didn’t move and just looked at him, not sure if he saw her. The boat moved past and the green disappeared into the distance.

He knew she was here, she knew he was here. But it was no longer like when they were in Qing Shui Town, when she would wave and call Shi Qi and he would show up beside her.

Xiao Liu didn’t know how long she sat there until a person walked by and sat down beside her. The faint herbal scent wafted over but Xiao Liu didn’t turn her head because she knew that even if he saw her face, it was not her real face. She smiled at the passing boats and her heart fluttered with a small happiness.

After some moments, Xiao Liu asked “Not afraid of being followed?”

“My ancestor is the fox. There is only my following, few can track me.”

Xiao Liu remembered being captured by Xiang Liu the first time and how he found her. The second time when Zhuan Xu tossed her in prison, he again found her. He really was very adept at tracking.

Xiao Liu asked “Have you gone to watch the tournament?”

“The Tu Shan clan doesn’t fight, we come here to discuss business and find talent.”

Xiao Liu said nothing more and Shi Qi silently kept Xiao Liu company under the sun. Xiao Liu never turned around but his herbal scent was very calming. Until the sun was setting over the river, Shi Qi softly said “I need to leave. When are you going back?”

“I need to go back too.”

“Then you go first.”

Xiao Liu felt a sliver of warmth in her heart and stood up to leave. She walked slowly down the river edge towards the residence, knowing someone was sending her off with his eyes. It made this walk feel less lonely with someone keeping her company.

But the person sending her off gave her the warmth while he kept the loneliness of watching her gradually disappear from sight.

The match began and it was intense, ice versus water, and just like Ru So said Xian froze all the water and it was like there was snow falling just on the match ring. Xiao Liu’s powers were low and the entire arena was like the middle of the Winter so she started shivering. Ru So saw it and put his hand on hers and passed her some power to warm her up. He also lowered his head to explain what was happening on the match ring between two opponents.

Xiao Liu suddenly felt like someone was staring at her and she looked towards the VIP section where there was a curtain covering one area. She asked Ru So “Who is sitting over there?” Ru So looked “The Tu Shan clan.”

Xiao Liu was silent and then started laughing and muttering “You made me promise not to date a guy for fifteen years, you didn’t say I couldn’t talk to guys.”

Ru So asked “What did you say?”

Xiao Liu laughed “Nothing, keep on explaining.”

Ru So and Xiao Liu continued to keep their heads close and talk to each other throughout the match.

Short Encounterment but Sentimental
Sentimental Herbal Scent
In the whole chapter 11, there is this brief encounterment between Xiao Liu and Jing.But it was a strong scene though. I love this scent of herbal communication between them. In drama, it was a herbal saschet she personally gave him and he treasure it.  With scent as communication, it is indeed representing the treasured moments and the sensual feelings. With its being herbal, it must be something that is healing feeling. 

Sliver of Warmth
He sent her off and standing still watching her from behind until she was out of sight. Of course, such feelings represent that he would be here for her even he might be lonely when she was away. But she certainly feel the warmth of him being there for her.

Jealousy from Far Away 
In another scene Xiao Liu could feel that her interactions with Ru So could make Jing jealous. According to the context she sounded delighting about it as she was laughing and muttering on how their promise excluding of not talking to other guys. In the past she's the one to feel sort of jealous over maids around him. But now it's his turn (according to her). Jing maybe jealous over guys around his Wen Xiao Liu, nevertheless, he still did not have the right over Xiao Liu, with him being engaged to another woman and engagment is not called off yet. All he could do now was to watch over her from afar and need to accept she could not belong to him fully yet.

Part 1 

About Little Zhu Rong

Little Zhu Rong was a direct descendant of Sheng Nong imperial family, the son of big hero Zhu Rong. But he surrendered Yellow Emperor, married into Chui Sui family.  Then he was given to govern middle plain which used to under control of Sheng Nong.
Surrendering to Yellow Emperor, not counting on both his parents died for world might the subject for people to criticize at behind his back. However, he was just and fair, transformed the lawless area like middle plain into civilized one. So people can settled there. He was respected by then. 

Chui Sui autumn tournament was for middle plain families to have fun, competition, to learn and grow and meet more people. It sounds to me like it is a time and place for gathering and meeting. This event was supported by Yellow Emperor and Grand Emperor as they send official to grant rewards to young participants there.

This passage introduce us to Chui Sui Zhu Rong surrendering to Yellow Emperor as not a bad thing. After all he still got to establish his strength ruling middle plain and also creating Chui Sui Autumn Tournament which some of our leads will be enjoying in chapter 11.
If Little Zhu Rong just determined to win Yellow Emperor through battles, maybe he would not have established his strength and creation.

The Legend of The Drought Monster
Both Zhuan Xu and Xiao Liu had never came to Chui Sui middle plain. Xiao Liu had not come here because her mother died in battlefield here. 

So the boat master told the legend. There was no barren desert before hundred years ago so. The rumors said there was peach blossoms forest in the middle of  the desert.
There lived a demon beast that is like flame that scrotched the earth. The demon was known as drought monster because it brought drought to the area. Some gods tried to take out the monster but the area just became too hot for them when get into desert forest. But then the monster did not really hurt anyone so it was just left like that. 

The role of the monster could become important in later chapter because it was told with such details. One thing is for sure is that Xiao Liu did not hate the monster. It again showed us that Xiao Liu had this ability to not to judge someone on surface and could see through goodness despite appearance.

Fang Feng Yi Yang's Assasination Attempt ?

Xiao Liu preparation of food and Ah Nian's fishes (she split lake for Xiao Liu to catch fishes) must had caught attention from surrounding boats to want to buy fish from them, that Lady Fang Feng Yi Yang. The maid she sent to buy fish was mocked by Ah Nian and her maid, and that lead to Fang Feng Yi Yang shooting arrows at our main characters' boat. Of course this should not be coincident and Ru So  being shocked in another scene even also showed he understood the situation. This chao situation could be after all Fang Feng Yi Yang's plan and Ah Nian and her maid just acted out to make it easier for her. I just hope we will get to see why Jing's fiance was involved in such assasination attempt.

Xiao Liu Being Hero For Bratty Ah Nian

We learned in this scene that both Zhuan Xu and Ah Nian could not swim. Nevertheless, Zhuan Xu definetly knew how to look after himself, he also did show his protectiveness to others on the boat too, whereas Ah Nian seemed to be quited pampered by others that she did not know what to such life threatening situation at all. Her maid Hai Tang was shot with arrow. Nevertheless, our hero, Xiao Liu was able to save both ladies and took them back to Ru So.

Zhuan Xu's Intelligence and Good Luck Out of Chaos

With Fang Feng Yi Yang causing chaos at Zhuan Xu, he was still able to make connection the important clans such Chui Sui, Tushan...Being companion to her zither, Chui Sui Xing Yue helped the owner the flute who was drowning. Was it all destined?
Maybe Zhuan Xu was the destined one. But he was practical about it. And he was smart enough to guess of Fang Feng Yi Yang's plan and limit in processing it. 

A Girl Who Dreams

Xiao Liu may still be a girl who believe in destiny bringing events together because to her the coincidents sounds magical in which Zhuan Xu had to call her "a girl who dreams".
But to Zhuan Xu, things had to happens as what should be and he knew all those clans he needed support from also need something from him.
About the line "A girl who dreams" to me is referring to someone who thought of impossible things that could happen. Life is sometimes a miracle indeed although it might not fulfill every dream. Sometimes the impossible can become possible. Nevertheless there are many times the impossible just stay impossible forever. In this case dreaming impossibility might be such a loss.

Wrap Up

Chapter 11 holds a lot of important hints to what might be happening in later chapters of the story. We are introduced to the Chui Sui family and middle plain tournament. We learn about Drought Monster existence at Chui Sui middle plain. Zhuan Xu getting into four great clans Chui Sui, Tushan, Zi Ling and Gui Feng. Zhuan flute aglining with the sound of zither and player saved him from drowning might indicate their destiny in the future. And yep Xiao Liu and Jing still got to meet for short time. Yet their sentimental longing are still strong. All in all, this chapter indeed attract us deeper into the events of the story that may be unfolding in upcoming chapters.
