From the latest episode, we found out that Rung studied pharmacy before and that would explain how she knew what type of medicine to use to kill Pued. I also think that perhaps Dr. Oat is the easiest source for her to get the medication since he work in a hospital. She might ordered Dr. Oat to get the drugs and kill Peud by herself (her tires print were at the scene).
But if they are related, how did they even met? My guess is maybe she met Dr. Oat at abortion clinic and he fall in love with Rung. Then he willing became aid the murderer of Jane and Peud?
But, when I read previous discussion, few of people suggested that perhaps Dr. Oat is in love with Dr. Bunn, if that is the case then I don't know how to relate Rung and Dr. Oat. Another case, perhaps he is a long lost illegitimate little brother of Peud and Tan, and he is after all their money and inheritance. That is why he help Rung to kill him...??
Ughhh, this is very hard!! There are so many guesses about who the murderer is and what is the motive? Can't wait for the next episode. I watched because of MAXTUL but got so immersed in the storyline and eager to find out who the killer is.
Oat is really the wild card here, indeed. He keeps us guessing simply because he’s not in the novel and we’re now left wondering what role he really plays in all this.
IF he’s related by blood to anyone, I don’t think it would Rung and Jane, though it’s highly possible Rung has a non-blood connection because of her pharmacy background and Oat being hospital staff. Maybe they came from the same university (even if there’s a slight difference in age)? Perhaps some professional connections / circles before Rung switched to the spa business
Or both may be secretly involved in the abortion clinic? Since the other nurse is involved, Oat may be. Plus Rung may have ties to the clinic; if she is involved in human trafficking and her spa is a front for prostitution, maybe she sends any girls she has to the clinic if they get pregnant “on the job ? “
My guess IF Oat is related by blood to anyone, it may be the congressman (he can be old enough to be Oat’s father), though again, if he were the son of a prominent public figure in such a small town, it would be unlikely no one knows this unless it’s an Aod/Tann situation where it’s father and secret illegitimate son.
so here is something that came to me a while ago and I didn't really pay any mind to it, until recently....
The scene where Tan and his brother Por are talking about Tan not being able to kill a friend...because he's too kindhearted and weak...We don't know what timeline that event happened. What if it was when Tan was really young when he let his friend escape? If so, could that friend be Oat who came back and looks different? It would be really cool if in the twist we get is that Oat was that friend Tan was supposed to kill for betraying them, but didn't and now he is back. It would make sense why he could have targeted both Peud and Bun...two people who mean a lot to Tan.
But that's just a thought.

That’s an interesting idea.
And considering that Episode 12 just kind of possibly turned suspicions away from Oat since he had a “solo” scene with Commander Tung and the henchman (i.e. no one else was around, so if Oat was in on it, there would have been no reason to pretend to be good - and he would have told the Commander were Bunn and Tann went)...
... it would be interesting if he turned out to be that guy, but instead is helping Tann out (as gratitude for letting him go?). But it would be quite far-fetched unless Oat looked super different because somehow, even if they were young, Tann would recognize the guy (barring facial surgery).
I’m still 50/50 on Oat - it would seem like such a waste of casting if there wasn’t any major reveal about him, whether for the side of bad or for the side of good, but then sometimes, maybe it is what it is at face value.
The thing with MD (the actor who plays Oat) is that, just like in the episode where he and Bunn were doing Natty’s autopsy and his eyes seemed to speak volumes about something in his mind, he worked acting with his eyes well again.
When he went out of the OR to tell Commander Tung about Sarawat Aem‘s condition, it seems from he way he moved his eyes to look at Tung and Gun and the way his expression went... that he was either lying or not telling everything.
Something is still definitely up with Oat, I think.
Since next episode is the penultimate episode, I won’t be surprised if the cliffhanger leading to the final episode is that scene in the preview where they hear the voice, revealing possibly Oat as a final twist.
It's interesting how this discussion focuses so much on Oat, I didn't really think he was suspicious but maye that makes him more suspicious lol. I thought he would lie to the chief and Inspector Gun about Inspector M's condition though - if he's a good guy it would make sense for him to say M's dead, so that the chief and his cronies don't try to kill him again. But I dunno, I'm not convinced he's a bad guy. It could also be the hospital's director or Fai helping the bad guys access medication and medical records, right?
Maybe y'all can help me understand something. I don't understand why Rungtiva helped Tan get out of prison when the chief planned on blaming both Jane and Pued's murders on him which would have exonerated her? And the judge agreed to it even though finding a scapegoat would have helped him, too.
And isn't it a kind of stupid idea to release Rungtiva from prison like that? If anyone from a different police department were to check on the case it would look super suspicious that someone who confessed to the murder was released like that and it would alert them to the corruption within the force.
Also, where are anyone's parents? The first victim in the show, Natty, didn't seem to have parents fighting for her case, and then Nam got hurt again and again and her parents are nowhere to be seen, and Sorawit is also a high school kid and when he was run over no parents showed up at the hospital.

I really don't think they care considering that the policemen in power are the criminals so no one would dare to say something back.
Discussion after watching ep. 12:
Like most of you, I'm still suspicious of Oat. I knew that "colleague" of Inspector M's was the masked guy (though I was between him and Oat) and that the judge was somehow involved. Apparently Rung's whole testimony was some made up bs (assuming from the fact that the chief got her out of prison) which makes me wonder if Pued was actually in charge of Jane's death or if he simply got the blame for it. Also, someone else asked: "how would Pued know how to prep the injection" in the comment section and I believe that's a completely valid point. Pued was a little b, that's for sure, but would he kill someone? Hm. Many who have read the book are convinced there are two murderers so, besides Rung, I'm still unsure of who else to accuse.
I don't watch previews but all I hope is that Inspector M is fine and doesn't end up paralyzed like the doctors said. Totally unrelated to the murders but if he dies (after it took me so long to start loving him) I'm gonna be pissed.
Also, where are anyone's parents? The first victim in the show, Natty, didn't seem to have parents fighting for her case, and then Nam got hurt again and again and her parents are nowhere to be seen, and Sorawit is also a high school kid and when he was run over no parents showed up at the hospital.
It’s pandemic, they have limited people 😅

But would the Human Trafficking unit just ignore everything like that even though they literally found trafficked girls who can probably give evidence of the corruption? I feel like they're way too sure of themselves and making a lot of mistakes. Not the ENTIRE police force in the region can be dirty cops.

They already have plenty of people in the series it wouldn't be weird to have one or two parents in the mix hahaha

They released Tann because they knew Por would try to have him killed (since at that time Por still believed Tann killed Pued). It takes the problem of having to explain a dead Tann inside jail (which would risk closer inspection by higher / outside authorities of police brutality) and gives them an easy way to pin it all on Por. It also takes the heat away from Rungthiva since it would appear that she’s “good.” Their scapegoat was to have been Por.. They were hitting two birds with one stone. As Commander Tung told the congressman, “Tann would be safer inside jail than outside.”
They just didn’t count on Tann surviving and Por finally believing his half-brother’s side of the story.

Agreed. It seems strange that neither Natty nor Nam seem to have parents looking for them, nor Sorrawit.
Although Natty and Nam aren’t in the book, Sorrawit does have a mother in the book.
Offhand, I can’t recall Thad’s family situation, will have to recheck what happened to his parents, but he comes from a poor family and was taken in by Tann as a protege when he saw Thad’s poverty (including helping Thad get into trade school).
Edited: re-read Thad’s background in the novel. Five years prior to the main events in the novel (making Thad around 15 years old when he and Tann first met; he’s 20 in “the present”), Thad’s mother owed Tann’s father money, and Tann was sent to collect the debt. He saw the impoverished state of Thad’s family and saw his own old life reflected therein, taking pity on Thad. Tann convinced his father to reduce the debt by allowing him to take Thad in and work for them. He then took Thad under his wing and since then, Thad grew immensely loyal to Tann. Only Thad knew in their teenaged gang who Tann was outside the Mr. Black (Dam) mafia persona.
So yes, Thad also has/had a mother, at least. But I haven’t reread everything so I can’t recall if in the “present” Thad’s mother is still alive (since she was mentioned in the “five years ago” flashback but none as far as I recall in the present).
Since no indication about Thad’s parents has been made in the series, in my mind I’ll assume he got orphaned already after Tann took him under his wing. Otherwise, it would just be sad that his mother never came looking for him when he was held captive by Tung’s men (in the book, that never happened). And it makes sense for Tann to consider him practically family.
The getting Tan out of prison was to have Por kill him which gives the police enough incentive to arrest Por killing two birds with one stone.
As someone else mentioned, the lack of parents could be different reasons, one being Covid. Also, for Nan, there was an episode where Sorawit went looking for her and it was implied that she lives alone (no family) so we can assume that she is either an orphan or her parents are "migrant" workers who left their village to head to a bigger city for work.
Thank you @allancarreon @anchorenomore for explaining the plan with having Por kill Tan, that makes total sense ^^
To me Thad's lack of parents makes sense because even though I haven't read the novel it seemed to me like he looks up to Tan like a father figure or older brother, which to me indicated he didn't really have family of his own or at least wasn't close to them.
The fact that none of the high school kids seem to have parents (or even just guardians! I'll take an aunt, an uncle or a grandparent, too! haha) is still kinda weird to me. I know Thailand might be a little different but I still don't think that it would be normal for all these kids to live by themselves and not a single family member visiting them in hospital? If they can have an actor playing the school principal visiting Nam in hospital they could have had a parent, so I don't think it's because of Covid. I think they might just not have thought about it. Maybe they thought no one would notice haha
