i wanted to share my opinion and discuss if others have similar or different opinions as compared to mine.
it is regarding how death was handled in the show, not who and how they died but rather by which episode they died.
let's take the 1st episode annies death. i realize why they choose ep1 as it raises the stakes and engages the viewers, but imo if the incident happened around ep2 or ep3 they would have been able to show us more of the interactions and dynamics that Annie had with her family and people around her. considering the fact her death marks the main crux and motivation for many of the actions the leads take, thus the emotional weight of their choices is sort of related to their fondness to Annie, even if this is well acted by the leads. the audience relatively feels less connected to her in turn her death felt shallow.
similarly, the death of the MLs mother also would have had time to explore and develop by pushing the 1st case.
