So, I'm looking for high rated (8 or higher) Chinese or Taiwanese comedy romance dramas where at least the male lead doesn't look like a teenager. So far, everything I've seen the male lead looks so young I can't take them seriously as an adult doctor/CEO/policeman, etc.

Am I asking for too much?

Also, not interested in historical. Modern only.

Thanks!

Two of my personal faves don't get 8/10 at MDL (which is fine by me since I hold MDL ratings in utter contempt), but both feature MLs who are definitely not teenagers

https://mydramalist.com/2854-office-girls (8/10 for me)

https://mydramalist.com/538-my-queen (9/10 for me) - this one was remade as the  very mehdiocre  K Drama "Witch's Romance", which unsurprisingly to me scores a higher average rating than the superior original

lmao the "ml does not look like a teen" made me laugh. I feel ya so much there. The rating system is tricky though. Lots of people will rate something low and another high. I'd actually recommend you to steer away from the MDL rating since it is often misleading.  I'd really really recommend you to just go with what is written in the comment section. You will get a general idea on a drama being good or bad from that more than from the rating system .

some of the dramas I really liked:
Taiwan:
Romance:
Lost Romance
Hello Again
Behind your Smile

(Trinity of Shadows - this one is a very dark and serious drama. There is romance in it, and one has a happy ending but overall the drama is a very serious one. The actors are all older and do not look like a 20/25 year old kid. And it is really really really well done. Highly recommend it. Though it is a serious drama. )

China:
Romance:
Dating in the kitchen
Go Go Squid
Love Designer

If you look for a drama that is not just romance I'd highly recommend you to check out the Light on Series. Most dramas are with an older cast but the themes are very serious and very dark . Some with romance, some not. some with a happy end, some not. If you are interested I can recommend you Kidnapping Game, Burning Ice, Gold Panning.
Generally in terms of dark/thriller dramas there are a lot of with some great storylines and acting + older cast.

I've dropped dramas because an actor in his early 20s playing a doctor was treated by his seniors like some kind of rock god.

China: Perfect and Casual

Thanks guys! I wasn't sure anyone would feel like me. I'm glad I was wrong. Looking for all these right now.
