Melodrama to Romance: K Drama Recommendations

Hello everyone! I'm taking a break from C dramas and looking for a new K-drama to obsess over. I'm in the mood for something with great romance, angst and superb chemistry between the leads. Less comedy, more emotional depth please! What are some of your favorite K-drama from this year that fit the bill? I'd love to see your recommendations!

Haven't watch a lot K-drama this year (only 5 including 2 BLs and 2 non romance drama) but When Life Gives You Tangerines (romantic melodrama, slice of life, tragedy, life lessons, optimist + cheerful + kind-hearted FL, devoted + persistent + diligent ML, 5 generations story but centered around 2 generations, family bonds) may fit.

Just prepare a box of tissue or two.

I've watched very few kdramas this year but from what I've seen: Melo Movie (very melo, very emotional, chemistry was good, imo)

Thanks, Autum Iris! " When Life Gives You Tangerines" has been on my radar, but the " box of tissues" warning is making me hesitant... lol. Guess it's time to grab some tissues and give it a shot!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on "Melo Movie"! Since that's one of the few K-drama you've watched this year, I'll take your recommendation into consideration. If you end up watching some very good K-dramas in the future, I'd love to hear your thoughts on them.
