Hello everyone, my first time posting here and im kinda new in dramas.
I really enjoyed Mr Queen for its comedy and the unique plot of being swappped in another body, and also i loved No Pain No Gain (Cdrama, Pei Qian has to lose money in the company for himself to earn) Because it had a unique plot and i really loved how misunderstood he was in it,also i usually prefer a ML in dramas.

Here so far what ive seen of this kind:
- Mr Queen (chef swap body in a queen's body)
- No Pain No Gain (ML has to lose money within the company or he wont earn)
- Boyhood (ML is misunderstood as someone else who's OP while he's not)
- Psychopath Diary (ML loses his memory, finds a diary of a serial killer and think he's the one who wrote the diary)
- The Tale of Nokdu (ML has to pretend to be a female to be in the village, loved the unique plot and its full of misunderstandings that are so funny)
- Chief Kim (ML tries to do rob the company but becomes the mc and its so full of misunderstandings)

Im looking for some more even tho its hard, anything thats comedy/unique plots/misunderstandings would be amazing, im not looking for a full sitcom but not even too heavy of a drama.

I have a list of offbeat dramas and movies: https://mydramalist.com/list/10dl29P1 and a list of light and/or comedic ones, too: https://mydramalist.com/list/10dlq2k1 I hope you find something you enjoy! :)

From what i can recommend, you can check out "Welcome to Waikiki", "Gaus Electronics", "Pegasus Market". These are all kdramas and are a lot of fun to watch, it also mostly consist of misunderstandings and is light hearted to watch

I just have to recommend The Forbidden Marriage, a korean fusion historical drama. I have never laughed so much in a korean drama before. And I do not find many things funny. That one caught me unaware.

Sleepeeeer Hit https://mydramalist.com/16585-juhan-shuttai (Japanese)

The Warp Effect https://mydramalist.com/715923-the-warp-effect

Peaceful Property https://mydramalist.com/758585-peaceful-property (Thai, ghosts. Actually any drama about ghosts is a comedy drama and there are plenty of those!)

Ehy ty for the recommendations ill def check them out and i did hear of the first one ig ill give it a try

You're great at describing what you like! I've seen these dramas you've got on your watchlist: Study Group, Undercover High School, Chief Kim /Good Manager, and Mr. Queen. I 100% adore Chief Kim!

So we're talking funny, fast-paced, unique plots, mostly about the ML, and featuring misunderstandings like mistaken identity and more.

I think you'd really love a drama I started but put on hold: Bad and Crazy. It's super well done, and the only reason I didn't finish it is because all the stuff you love is stuff that I like but for me comes second to other factors.

Bad and Crazy has great action, and all the fights are well integrated into the ML's conflicts and challenges, so everything counts both physically and emotionally. The ML and the plot are both unique and surprising. And it's funny and wild.

I'd also like to cautiously recommend Vincenzo to you, because it reminds me of Chief Kim - a morally grey protagonist forms unlikely alliances, and uses his criminal skills for not-so-evil ends. It's not a laff riot, but there is dark humor. One appealing tension is that the ML is a coldblooded killer who looks great in his expensive suits. Some antagonists are surprised to discover he is a brutal avenger. It's definitely ML-focused and it moves fast. Two unique things about the drama are, first, that it's mostly set in a half abandoned mall building that's a metaphor for the entire country. Also, second, Vincenzo is Korean, but his personality and skills were formed by his life as a Mafia consigliere.

Bonus: Are you interested in a non-comedy? If you're up for a melodrama with some romance, then the ML's complicated identity and the central misunderstanding of Where Stars Land is right up your alley. The drama is a story of a man with unique challenges and a riveting story. It's really good, so I don't want to give too much away, but given the other dramas you've watched, I think it would be meaningful for you.

Hey kabocha thank you for the suggestions. yes i've def heard of Bad and Crazy and Vincenzo, i did start both of them and in both i'd say i liked more Vincenzo, because something i've noticed is that like: Study Group, Zombie Detective, Undercover Highschool and etc.. Is that all these have in common the: detective/police involved. Usually i like them but i guess ive seen plenty of them so i was looking for something else.
Also non comedy is still fine with me though as of now after some heavy shows i do prefer lighter series, i havent watched any romcom yet (i did watch rom com in anime).
By the way knowing you loved Chief Kim i def suggest you to watch Boyhood, its basically the same plot and it will get your tummy hurting for how funny lol

Kyo Kara Hitman - plain office worker, family man ML had to substitute for a hitman who had died. Typical story you have heard/seen before, but very funny and lighthearted.

Namba MG5 - delinquent ML (that is OP) had to pretend as normal student in normal high school.

My Boss, My Hero - Japanese remake of Korean movie of the same name. ML is a yakuza heir in his late 20's but his father had him enrolled in high school. Coming of age with many funny moments (and of course lots of misunderstandings).

Nobunaga Concerto - High school ML time slipped back to the past but forced to swap identity with local samurai lord (Nobunaga). This drama is mostly funny with some emotional moments at certain parts.

Legendary Boss Sho - ML swapped identity with OP delinquent. I did not remember if it's funny enough or not.

Saving My Stupid Youth - ML became teacher at his old school because he wanted to mend his past mistake. The plot is dynamic so it's hard to explain without giving out spoiler but I assure you it's crazily funny.
