Hello!

Please comment down your Turkish drama recommendations. Open to any suggestions! ^^

Also, is there a site to watch Turkish dramas with english subtitles? (except for Netflix)

Turkish dramas I've watched/currently watching:

  1. Emanet
  2. Sila (I had to watch the episodes with no eng sub T_T)
  3. Magnificent Century: Kosem
  4. Siyah Beyaz Ask
  5. What's Left of You
  6. Dolunay
  7. Winter Sun

Thank you

I'm a Turkish drama fan. There are lots of free streaming sites out there including turkfans.com, raindizi.com and wlext.net.     Recommendations really depend on what you like -- I don't like most Turkish comedies (way too exaggerated for my taste) & historicals but others completely love them. I really like crime/mafia dramas w/romance but many people totally dislike those lol.

I'm slow-watching a handful of older shows right now -- Cesur ve Guzel (family revenge/romance), Fatih Harbiye (family, rich v. poor, heavy love triangle), Karadayi (hidden identity, crime/mystery/romance), & Icerde (mafia, hidden identity, mild romance).

Of the current shows, I watch Ramo  and Zalim Istanbul. Ramo is mafia/romance & ZI is just flat-out crazyland but strangely addictive. I think ZI has its series finale this week. Ramo is off until fall but old episodes are available.

Vatanim Sensin (I think the English title is Wounded Love, but I think the Russian title which translates to My Homeland is You is much more fitting). The first season is still my favorite Turkish drama ever with no other that comes close. It’s set during the Greek and Turkish war with the Greek army occupying Turkey. The lives of the Greek army general’s family intertwine with the lives of a Turkish family whose head of household — the husband/father — betrayed them and became the Greek army general’s right hand. There are two main couples (but more lovelines than just them): the Wife &  Husband of the Turkish family — the actors portraying this couple are married irl too — and the youngest daughter of the Turkish family who is a patriotic freedom fighter with the Greek general family’s illustrious son. These two couples are seriously beautiful and it’s a stunning series all around with really quality production.

Another one is Fatmagül'ün Suçu Ne? or What Was Fatmagul’s Fault (honestly just search Fatmagul and I’m pretty sure you’d get subs quickly). This is a super famous drama that tackles a really difficult topic, which I’m not sure I should even share. If you don’t want to watch something with sexual assault and trauma, this is not the pick for you. The couple is really lovely and wonderful, but of course it takes time to get there for them. They marry quickly because they’re put into a position where they have to, and she absolutely hates him for a while, while he longs for her.

Yet another famous one with Beren Saat generally considered a must watch is Ask-i Memnu or Forbidden Love. If you’re looking for something cute & fluffy this is super not it, but if you want to cry and see a couple with tons of chemistry it’s one of the best choices for that.

I also really love — and this is another super famous show that should have subs available in many places — is Adını Feriha Koydum. It’s set in college in the beginning and it’s a variation of a Cinderella-esque story but with extreme melodrama too. The couple is so adorable together.

Çukur is a drama that is still airing/ongoing but I’d recommend it too, as long as you’re ready that absolutely no character is safe, regardless if they’re main characters or not. Amazinggg main actor.

I also adore Turkish Dramas. Some of my favorites are:

  • MERYEM
  • BLACK MONEY LOVE (on Netflix)
  • VUSLAT
  • ASK LAFTAN ANLAMAZ
  • HERCAI

You Knock On My Door

A show I've recently watched and enjoyed because I adore both leads is, doğduğun ev kaderindir. There is only a single season of 12 episodes out so far, but I loved it. :)

I also watched the first season of Sefirin Kızı (17 ep/ends on a cliffhanger) and really enjoyed this melodrama. Some of the plot and characters are WAY over the top, but I am HOOKED. I will say that this might be the first time EVER I not only ship the FL with the 2ML... but might even be angry if the FL & ML end up together. I have zero hope, but I'm going to continue to torture myself anyway -_-

P.S. I also loved loved ZEMHERI ( a short/10 episode drama)

I will say... beware of Bir Aşk Hikayesi  if you don't want your mother effin' heart ripped out. :'(

Did you watch the CRAZY Town finale of Zalim Istanbul? Wow. Wow. Wow. Honestly... the last few episodes took the crazy to a whole new level. Insanity. Still, I couldn't seem to look away. HA.

"The Protector" :)

Netflix has a surprising amount of them. A few on YouTube as well, but I'd watch them on the TurkFans website.

Black Money Love on Netflix is where I'd start :D

I didn't know that foreign people love Turkish dramas.. I am Turkish so i know a lot of Turkish dramas but recently i don't watch TV so i can recommend some old dramas.

Avrupa Avrupa (i think it's suitable for comedy)

Sakarya Fırat (it's a military drama)

Kurtlar Vadisi (i didn't watch this drama but in Turkey a lot of people love this drama)

Öyle Bir Geçer Zaman Ki ( it was a really nice drama i think..)

Arka Sokaklar (i think this drama start 10 years ago and it's still arriving...)

Doktorlar (it's a remake of Grey's Anatomy. It's a really nice drama i think.. Every summer this drama starting re-arriving at some channels and people are watching it.. Again and again..)

Now i can't remember all good dramas i've watched.. I hope you like it.

Erkenci Kus,, the best for me..
