I don't trust the ratings from anywhere anymore. Some of my favourite dramas had low ratings everywhere. Anyways, cinderella's sister is a full-on makjang. Out of the other ones I suggested, it is the only one where the FL is feeling miserable most of the time, and unlike the other dramas it's not because of something that happened suddenly but because of the way she lived.

tbh I preferred  49 days and my only one. In angel's last mission love, the FL's acting is superb but the ML is too childish for my taste.

oh sweet, i'm a big fan of cinderella stories + the character going any sort of trauma is a bit hit for me so i'm definitely going to watch this one.

thanks for the input on the others!

The only drama that comes to my mind right now is Tra Barb See Chompoo but it might be not your cup of tea because the Male Lead isn´t that caring towards the girl. Actually, he makes her life even more worse.

does he ever become caring? like at any point in the story? i don't mind characters that are assholes so much if they eventually show a softness towards the female lead.

 Little Cherry:

Piece of your mind- Her parents die in a forest fire, her whole house burns down, she's never went to her home since that tragic accident.

But male lead kinda helps her, he gives her emotional support, when she visits her home again, he follows her but never lets her notice him.

Even when she cries desperately, he lets her cry all she wants in her own comfort. He steps toward only when she's cried all her heart out, only to ask her to go home together.

I know this may sound insensitive of him, but this is a healing drama, which shows how humans heal their broken souls, with passing time, and how their presense helps the others heal too.

I know many of you haven't watch it due to low ratings, but for me, this drama alone taught me so many things that some two hundred dramas as a whole couldn't teach me in five years.

thank you for the detailed explanation! this drama was on my radar because i'm a fan of chae soo bin but i heard it suddenly was shortened and was worried about how that would affect the script/plot pacing so i got too scared to pick it up

 looktothestars:

Familiar Wife - So, the female lead doesn't go through something tragic necessarily but she does have a lot of hardships and when the male lead realizes this and feels guilty I got all of the heart flutters that you were talking about.

Goodbye My Princess - I second this one. Such a good drama.

My Huckleberry Friends - FL goes through something tragic and the ML pretty much spends the whole drama trying to be there for her. It's adorable..

omg familiar wife wasn't even on my radar but that description just like shot it to the top

my huckleberry friends sounds good too!

Even though the drama got cut, it really ended up being a huge effect on it's audience, because of the way it was written and presented. If you like simple story with a deep meaning then it's a must watch for you!

that's great, i'll definitely watch it!

I miss you- the girl breaks down a lot and the boy has to calm her

Mars- the girl gets sexually abused by her step  father and the boy has to comfort her and let her move in with him  (very similar to autumns concerto)

Behind your smile- currently watching but the girl basic loses everything and then has to live like a poor person and a rich guy helps her get through it even though at first his intentions aren’t the best.. but later falls for him and generally takes care of her
