this is about to get really oddly specific but i'm just in a mood so please excuse that for a second lmao

so like, i'm really in the mood to see a romance that has a scene where something tragic happens to the girl and the guy is there. like i started watching master devil do not kiss me and in the first episode the girl's mom dies and her house burns down within the span of a day, and the rich family whose dad receives one of her mom's organs takes her in, and i got so excited because that premise really sounds like my kinda shit but then she got over it within the same episode? like she didn't mourn and it didn't visibly effect her afterwards at all? and homeboy over there didn't give two shits either. and now i'm just feeling unsatisfied at how that played out and want to see it done well.

like it's been a hot minute since i've seen the drama but i remember in easy fortune happy life there's a scene where the female lead's house burns down and male lead has to physically hold her back from running into the flames and then holds her while she cries, which was nice and heart fluttering and all but all i remember afterwards is that he was like a total dick to her for most of the rest of the drama. so it started out heading in the right direction but then took a wrong turn and nose-dived off a cliff.

something more similar to how in shining inheritance all that bad stuff happens; her dad dies, she goes bankrupt and loses everything, and her brother goes missing, and when the male lead realizes he played apart in everything going wrong he gains a conscience and starts to change and care for her. that got my heart fluttering.

another similar thing is like in you're all surrounded after all of the friends learn that the male lead witnessed his mom's murder as a kid they start to take care of him, but reversed.

i have basically been on the search for a drama comprised of the university portion of autumn's concerto since i first watched the drama

i see the male lead go through a tragedy and get taken care of by the female lead so often in dramas, i'm craving it the other way around. does that make sense? i have rambled too much.

please help with some recommendations ♥ kdramas, jdramas, cdramas, twdramas, and thai dramas are all good ♥

Try:

  • Come and Hug Me
  • Just Between Lovers
  • A thousand Days Promise

Try:

- Because of you (Subtle)

- Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo

- While You Were Sleeping (Subtle)

Soul Mechanic - Keeps being abandoned by people including all her adoptive parents, ML also had something tragic happen to him but it's mainly about the FL.

Come and Hug Me - They both went through it but FL is protected and cared for by ML most of the time (Because he feels guilty).

Thirty But Seventeen - FL had been in a coma for 13 years (She is Thirty physically but has the mind of a seventeen year old) and she realizes that her family had abandoned her in the hospital, ML was there on the day of her accident. They meet again due to some circumstances.

Angel's Last Mission: Love (2019) +1

Somehow 18 (2017) - Fantasy. FL has been in a coma for years due to an attempted suicide, Ml goes back in time to try and stop it happening, they grow closer and he finds out about the FLs struggles.

Come and Hug Me

Goodbye My Princess

Angel's Last Mission: Love

My Only One

Cinderella's Sister

49 Days

all of these sound great! cinderella's sister is one that has been on my radar for years but i have never actually gone through with starting it because i've been scared of the low rating. what did you think of the drama?

thanks! which <because of you> are you referring to?

 emaureeng:

Best of You In My Mind. What they see together as young teens (first ep.) isn't major like a murder, but it's major in the eyes of a young person.

thanks! i really like school dramas~

I don't trust the ratings from anywhere anymore. Some of my favourite dramas had low ratings everywhere. Anyways, cinderella's sister is a full-on makjang. Out of the other ones I suggested, it is the only one where the FL is feeling miserable most of the time, and unlike the other dramas it's not because of something that happened suddenly but because of the way she lived.

tbh I preferred  49 days and my only one. In angel's last mission love, the FL's acting is superb but the ML is too childish for my taste.

The only drama that comes to my mind right now is Tra Barb See Chompoo but it might be not your cup of tea because the Male Lead isn´t that caring towards the girl. Actually, he makes her life even more worse.

Piece of your mind- Her parents die in a forest fire, her whole house burns down, she's never went to her home since that tragic accident.

But male lead kinda helps her, he gives her emotional support, when she visits her home again, he follows her but never lets her notice him.

Even when she cries desperately, he lets her cry all she wants in her own comfort. He steps toward only when she's cried all her heart out, only to ask her to go home together.

I know this may sound insensitive of him, but this is a healing drama, which shows how humans heal their broken souls, with passing time, and how their presense helps the others heal too.

I know many of you haven't watch it due to low ratings, but for me, this drama alone taught me so many things that some two hundred dramas as a whole couldn't teach me in five years.

I was going to recommend MARS, but you have watched it already. It fits your description.

Familiar Wife - So, the female lead doesn't go through something tragic necessarily but she does have a lot of hardships and when the male lead realizes this and feels guilty I got all of the heart flutters that you were talking about.

Goodbye My Princess - I second this one. Such a good drama.

My Huckleberry Friends - FL goes through something tragic and the ML pretty much spends the whole drama trying to be there for her. It's adorable..
