I made sure to include correct words.

Summary: Not everyone behaving like the way Seon Gyeom behaves got mental illness

Who is even debating if Ksg has mental illness? I thought this discussion was about autism and related. So "Not everyone behaving like the way Seon Gyeom behaves got autism" Is probably what you mean? Bcz as far as I know autism is not categorised as mental illness.

If you read some of the above comments and there are many comments on other social media platforms which point out that he is mentally unstable which can also be termed as "Mental illness"

Oh wow I didn't know that. not much SNS active. But wow people are really ignorant if they are saying that.

Ikrrr

Some user above said that he is mentally unstable indirectly and I was like "wow"

Like some humans really act as if they are experts in mental health

I agree. I find it really odd that there's even a discussion that he's either autistic or is mentally unstable.

I honestly see him as being unique and more of a socially particular person, but would have never thought autistic or mentally unstable or have a diagnosed/undiagnosed mental illness.

Exactly

This is actually quite weird????

 Hurixa:

Coz probably it's not a mental illness for him and just his fragile attitude towards Life.

I have seen many people like that...and it may be possible that they are mentally unstable but it's not definite that it's a mental Illness

It can be a kind of behaviour. It sucks to know that people like to assume things about others without really knowing it deeply.

Yeah of course, I don't think it's a mental illness, I was reffering for the decision of the creators to make a unique character without stating about it :)

Ahh I get you now.

It was a discussion about mental instability so I mixed it with your words XD And yeha I don't think creators would particularly mention the nature of a character coz that would be quite stupid and no sense? They dropped hints and that was the only way they could tell us about him

I agree that his character was definitely created keeping in mind the typical behaviors of an Asperger person. And it's just natural that the creators are not saying that he is Asperger, in that case, because Asperger people are.. well, people,  and they do not go around holding a sign that says "autistic".. And being Asperger it's not a mental illness (also, there's nothing to be ashamed of in having a mental illness), it's like a variant of human functioning.

I can totally see your point but how I understand it it’s not really important. In general Asperger syndrome is not an illness, but a spectrum which means that the person is more sensitive in some areas. I’d say he does have some kind of syndromes but it is the same with everyone, like all people have some more or less visible characteristics which could be said to be pointing on Asperger syndrome, he has a bit more, but I wouldnt say it was what drama was pointing at, it was more yeah we’re  all different and weird in our own way.

Ofc I’m not an expert, but I’d say it’s not that much of yeah big thing

True

1. He avoids eye contact.
2. He has sudden outbursts of rage and aggression.
3. He doesn't seem to fully understand other people's feelings, emotions, and motives.
4. He  is a picky eater (kind of a trivial thing, but happens in some mental disorders).
5. He doesn't know how to read the room.
6. He has problems with expressing his emotions.
7. While having a serious conversation with his mother, he suddenly becomes distracted for a split second by a small thing that happens in the background that isn't even in the focus in the particular scene.
8. People around him say that he's living in his own world and doesn't pay attention to this surroundings.

number 1 ,2, 4, 7 , I think not..

no1, I ever see the people wo always avoid eye contact, and he's too far from that ^^

no 2, is this because he punch his junior? I think he actually know what his doing not just angry and impulsive.

no 3 maybe he just doesn't care what people feeling and talking. he's just use to it

no 4 How you say he's a picky eater? based on his favorite food, Japchae?

Well, autistic people do not avoid *always* eye contact, they might keep eye contact for some seconds and then stop. Typically, they initiate a conversation with eye contact and then they look elsewhere, and return to eye contact at the end, and sometimes in between, because they somehow know that the other expects eye contact. It's not a black or white thing, especially with so called "high functioning" (it's an old label) or autism level 1.
As for the rest: none of this points is a distinctive autistic trait when taken alone, anyone could have this or that trait for different reasons, but when they are together they form a picture that suggests quite clearly autism.

Actually I dunno about the level of autism..

But he's quite normal for me.. He just being eccentric and have different thoughts from other people..

That's exactly what happens with autistic people level 1 all the time. They tell us "Hey, but you dont' look autistic!" (er... autism is about behavior, not looks XD)
And yes, autism is about having different thoughts from the majority of people.
I'm not saying that Seon Gyeom is a perfect representation of an autistic, some might think it's a  good one, some might say that it's not (and after all, autistic people are all different), but I'm rather sure that he was written as autistic, too many traits together to be just a coincidence.
It is more evident in the first episodes, then somehow it becomes less obvious, maybe the plot concentrates on other issues.
