Remove Lily Alice as Editor

I was shocked at the content of today's article. Has it been removed? My first reaction is to not renew my annual subscription coming up. Also is there anywhere on this site to register complaints? Or does one message an admin? The email contact to use is just a black hole.

Yeah I reported it, but who knows what happens bts. I'm so disappointed with the MDL site.

I can get this kind of sick news in lots of other places if I want it. I just wanna come here to read about dramas and chat with other members about the dramas we watch and keep track of my lists.

MDL should write for itself a mission statement and make clear rules for what kind of content needs to be avoided. There are thousands of user contributed articles that don't see the light of day. We should be discussing dramas and maintain respect towards actors.

Lily Malice loves the Koreaboo method: take a random negative comment and make an article blowing it up into a "controversy" it. I've been vocal on this issue for so long that Lily Malice already knows what the reception for this kind of article will be.

MDL could be good site for drama discussion and analysis if not left in the hands of gossip hungry tabloid writers who live deep in that mudpit. There are already enough malicious gossip sites for those who love any whiff of a "scandal" or "controversy".

Just anyone, no matter what age and level of maturity, can start writing to MDL. Nobody reviews. The consequences are what we've already seen. Kids invited to post death wishes for actors, kids invited to throw mud, kids invited to misbehave and be disgusting. There needs to be an adult in the room saying: we should not be deriving joy from bad things happening to actors. "Celebrity News" does not really belong to MDL, positive or negative. There will be those those who defend publishing these "articles" with slanted framing and sensationalism, but these people 1) could use other sites if they're interested, 2) are most likely the writers themselves.

All of these articles invite people to act as a public court. The insults are usually harsh, allowed by anonymity.

Nothing good comes from this for sure. It brings out the negative side of human nature. It's not helpful to anyone and brings down the integrity of this site.

MDL used to be such a site when I discovered it 6 years ago: no news articles, no Lily Alice google translating from Koreaboo, just all kinds of editorials (with one exception - no BL related content). Now they have become a business which depends on clicks and all the "articles" they publish are just clickbait! The users' complaints are just brushed off if it is not in MDL's interest to deal with them.

Don't waste your time: short of a massive unsubscribe movement, nothing you say or the number of votes you manage to collect (see the demand for gaga listing as service provider vote falling on deaf ears!) will make them react.
