Anyone who read the novel, Can you tell me the truth behind why Qing Mu/Bai Jue decided to marry (almost) with Jing Zhao? I know he did that to protect Houchi/Shang Gu. I want to know the details.

Actually he did this knowing Houchi would awake and would blame him. But it only makes sense when you know Bai Jue plan, and it is a major spoiler.

Bai Jue stoped Shangu sacrifice in the last minute by fusing his core to the tribulation to stop it for a time, this way he could save her soul, but he got his soul completely compromised. He discovered that the caos power is actually demon power mixed with imortal power, but since Bai Jue natural power is imortal, he needs to cultivate demon power, thats why he goes away as Bo Xuan and creates Qing Mu so he can refine demon power, thats why Qing Mu have traces of demon power in him. His plan is to have caos power to sacrifice to the tribulation in Shang Gu place, and have Shang Gu awake so she can rebuild God's Realm. He marries Jing Zhao to make Shang Gu hate him and stay away from him so she can't discover he is cultivating caos power and his plan to sacrifice in her place.
