Ok, I’m 90% positive that I am trying to use real world logic to explain dramaland circumstances; but there is something nagging at me about the final timeline and Im Sol’s choice to erase herself from Seon Jae’s life. In the original timeline Seon Jae isn’t murdered, he looses his battle with anxiety and depression. My interpretation is that seeing Im Sol again in a wheelchair reminded him of his guilt for not telling her to get off the bus when she fell asleep, thus leading to her being kidnapped and ending up in a wheelchair. But that’s just my interpretation, we are never given any information other than that he always wanted to apologize to Im Sol and that he was on medication for anxiety and depression.

When Im Sol erased herself from his memory how did she know that he wouldn’t make the same choice? Her original goal when she went back in time was to make sure Seon Jae was happy and wouldn’t make the same choice. I’m curious why she wasn’t concerned about his mental health when she erased herself from his life.

Am I reading into this too much (most likely lol), is it a plot hole, or did I miss something explaining how I’m Sol knew he was no longer anxious or depressed in final timeline? I assume the anxiety and depression came from his guilt with Im Sol, but I don’t know anymore ?‍♀️

In the original timeline, Sunjae was depressed but was not suicidal. In Ep1 and Ep7, the person who broke Sol's phone at the concert had the same silhouette and Ep8 showed clearly that it was the psycho. Sunjae was attacked in Ep1 because he was the key witness in Sol's reservoir abduction in 2008, then he was attacked in Ep8 because of the 2009 abduction. You can see in Ep 9 after Sunjae has saved Sol from the horse that she said she wasted so much time from being way off the mark in the suicide thing, since in the first two travels she was trying to not let him become a celebrity instead of making sure that the psycho never meet Sunjae indirectly because of her.

See I took the phone thing as being fate related. Like the incident happened in both timelines but not necessarily the same person. But that does make sense. Didn’t he only find Seon Jae though because he followed him home from Im Sol’s house? I took the knocking on the door from the first timeline as the stalker not the murderer. He also didn’t fight back then like he did the other times.  I am seriously over analyzing this lol. Sign of a good show!!!

This us why I think the sequence of Sunjae recalling his memories in Ep15 was such a masterpiece because it was done in such a way that it showed his experiences in the 4 timelines.

It showed memories1-> Sunjae lying on the road->memories 2-> Sunjae lying on the road -> memories 3->Sunjae lying on the road->memories 4->Sunjae fainting

1. Seeing young Sol for the first time/Sonaki moment->OG bus ride->saving OG Sol->guilt in the hospital-> reunion at Han river bridge with OG Sol->watching OG Sol from afar

2. Seeing time traveler Sol in school->photobooth date-> pool kiss->confession to TT Sol->saving time TT Sol-> reunion at Han river bridge with TT Sol->- apartment kiss

3. Seeing Sol at the member training camp->street light kiss->cherry blossom wish-> island kiss-> cliff death

4. Script reading-> yellow umbrella glimpse-> stairs reunion->ferris wheel hug/inescapable fate scene

It was definitely the psycho. And yes, it's highly probable that he followed Sunjae after the latter met Sol. The report in Ep8 said that he was ready with chloroform. It's very possible that in the OG timeline, depressed Sunjae wasn't able to fight him because he was under medication. He could have pushed Sunjae into the pool after knocking Sunjae out. But Ep8 Sunjae was very alert since he's getting ready for his date with Sol and so was able to fight back.

Sunjae died in episode 1 bc of the taxi driver. If you think about it, the last moment before his death in ep1 was the doorbell ringing. In  the og timeline, sunjae met sol and the taxi driver recognized him which explains why the driver attacked him in the of timeline. Also, he met sol for the first time since the incident that day and seeing her if anything would've made him more motivated and less depressed. So I doubt it was suicide. When sol timeslipped and came back to 2023 (ep 7), sunjae still died again and that was bc of the driver. So that indicated that no matter what, sunjae is going to die bc he was involved with the taxi driver during each timeline so far. So the only way she could think of to get the taxi driver away from sunjae completely was to erase their first meeting, so that they don't cross paths and thus the driver does not become aware of sunjae's existence.

And to think about it in a different light, sunjae wouldn't be depressed or anxious in the the newest timeline because his meeting with sol would have never happened, the incident wouldn't have happened, and he would not have had to experience guilt from leaving sol on the bus, or guilt from sol losing her legs (bc they didn't meet at all). If the incident left him guilty towards sol for the rest of his life in the og timeline, then that guilt wouldn't exist in the new one so sunjae would not be anxious or depressed like he was. I hope my yapping makes sense haha i am experiencing major soljae brainrot i miss them!
