Why Remake When the Original Only Just Came Out?

Do you think they remade it with a different story but same actors/characters because of the network/popularity? 

This one isn't made with Netflix, so maybe it was so popular another station wanted to do it too but couldn't?

Im just confused as to why they would remake it so close the the original one, it only came out last year...
