A drama about Kim Cheo Seon's life during the Joseon Dynasty. Kim Cheo Seon was a loyal and faithful eunuch for various Kings, such as the 5th King, Munjong, and the 10th King, Yeonsangun, during the Joseon era. In the Joseon Dynasty period, the kingdom was enveloped in a political maelstrom. Cheo Seon was born as a posthumous child and separated from his mother immediately. He was raised by Weol Hwa and the old Swe Gwi, who ran the eunuch school. When he meets So Hwa, the daughter of a powerful noble, he falls in love with her immediately. He voluntarily becomes a eunuch to be close to So Hwa and is assigned to work for Cho Chi Gyeom, a senior eunuch. Entering the royal palace, he sees King Sung Jong and So Hwa spend their first night together. He becomes So Hwa's loyal protector. As the political battles rage on among the courtesans and wives in the palace, So Hwa is chosen by the king to be his queen and Cheo Seon vows to be her loyal servant. But So Hwa is eventually dethroned as the queen and leaves the palace in disgrace. Cheo Seon helplessly watches these events unfold and he secretly helps So Hwa. But in a cruel twist of fate, he is the one chosen to execute So Hwa's death sentence by serving her a bowlful of poison. After So Hwa dies, he looks after her son King Yeon San as if he were his own son. Edit Translation

I love this drama! The story is engaging, each episode! It was hard to find a place to watch, I believe that is why many have not had the opportunity to see. Well let's talk about this drama.

For people who already watch period dramas, know that the best known stories usually involve the Monarchy, the Court and the Commoners. But this tells us a little about how the Department of Eunuchs, since when are chosen in childhood, to the highest title of Head of the Eunuchs. This is very interesting, because there are few dramas that show the importance of this class to the Monarchy. It also show a bit on the hierarchy of the court ladies, responsible for serving the Royal Family.

This drama is based on the stories of King Yejong, eighth of Korea, King Seongjong, ninth king of Korea, grandson of King Sejo and King Yeonsangun, tenth king of Korea (considered the worst tyrant of the Joseon Dynasty). Despite the plot change a little, still follows very faithful to the real story. It involves a strong friendship with childhood Chun Dong (later Kim Cheo Sun) and Yoon So Hwa. Thus we see the story develop. Thus it can be seen how power is something that seduces all around. As the fight to survive inside the palace is difficult and no one is free from being framed.

What I liked most of this production, was how they treated each character. All had their importance from beginning to end. Only I know how I cried during episodes. As care of certain details, leaving even more faithful to the historical literature.

BAD

Where to even begin with this mockery. It's as appalling as it sounds. The journey of a dickless simp following a clown king who can't control his dick. They could have explored the world of eunuchs in many different and interesting ways but they choose to go through the absolute worst possible route and interpretation of eunuchs. I wonder which is easier, finishing this drama or castration? Writing, story, direction, cast performance, sound design, cinematography, production, and characters were all abysmal by any measure. If you were to look through the last few episodes you'll realize even the writer was fed up with the drama and turned it into a hate writing. Even if you were a big fan of one of the cast members, I don't see this being worth it.
