1. He Is Psychometric
Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
Holy crap, this series was phenomenal.
The story had me on the edge of my seat. The way they wove the past into the present storytelling - it really flowed well and kept me glued to the screen. The characters were written so well; flawed and broken and utterly human.
But what really got me was the acting. Damn, the entire cast's acting was incredible and layered and honest. Park Jin Young (Lee Ahn) was phenomenal - his ability to show every emotion and thought through his eyes really sold me on his character.
Genuinely, I was super impressed by this series and found it really difficult to watch any other series after finishing that matched the quality.

2. Link: Eat, Love, Kill
Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
I find it hard to put into words how I felt about this drama. Not because I didn't like, but because I was honestly surprised how much of a profound impact it had on me. Of course, I absolutely adored the romance, and the murder mystery was intriguing and kept me engaged, but what I keep coming back to is the drama’s deeper themes of regret, loss, and, most importantly, shared healing.
I was initially drawn to this story by its emotion-based plot and a few clips of well-acted scenes. However, I didn’t expect it to be as emotionally gripping as it was. I’m not sure how they did it, by they somehow were able to find a balance between a dark & whimsy murder mystery with a story about a group of deeply broken people pretending not to be. It really showed me how complex people really are, and how we each deal with trauma in different ways in order to survive. I really appreciated the lengths the writer and actors went to in order to show the emotional toll that trauma responses (like self-isolation, denial, lashing out, etc.) can have on ourselves and those around us.
This story meant a lot more to me than I expected it to. I can relate to that self-isolation that comes with seeking indifference & apathy towards anything that makes you feel something. A lot of people can. And I find myself reflecting on this series pretty regularly, especially in times that I want to retreat back into my shell rather than ask for help. As dramatic as it may sound, this story now has a special place in my heart and in the back of my mind, helping to remind me that even when I may feel alone, I’m not. There is always someone to ask for help. To move forward.

3. Idol I
Korean Drama - 2025, 12 episodes
I was drawn to it from an edit I saw with some pretty incredible acting, and without reading anything else about it, decided to give it a shot.
I normally hate the “fan + idol” storylines. The “fan” tends to lean too far into the “obsession” category and is often portrayed as very child-like and naive. Yeah, that’s not for me. However, this one really surprised me with our deeply layered and well-rounded each character was. The “fan” character was more than just a fan. Maeng Se Na is wonderfully layered, intelligent, and emotionally resilient, hidden behind a stoic exterior. Do La Ik is equally layered, suffering from panic attack, grief, harassment, and self-isolation. Both characters feel like real people with their quirks, flaws, and fears. They balance out each other’s characters perfectly, slowly creating a relationship built on trust and emotional vulnerability. Their push-and-pull with each other feels honest and understated, never demanding much from the plot.
On paper, the plot is very simple; nothing too complex - a pretty straight-forward murder investigation with a healthy amount of twists. But where it truly excels is in its character-driven storytelling balanced with a soft, subtle romance. The growth of each character felt realistic and accurately paced. It takes time to trust someone, and I feel like the romance being built on trust and empathy made it honest and incredibly believable.
This was such a refreshing series to watch. The mystery was intriguing while the romance was beautifully-grounded with dialogue that took its time. The acting was absolutely phenomenal and left me rewinding often to watch the performances alone. Nothing felt “overacted” and I could feel everything along with them. The cinematography was subtle, romantic, and beautiful poetic in a natural way. Just gorgeous storytelling all around.
I was gingerly so impressed by this drama and its vulnerable approach to storytelling. Can’t wait for a rewatch.

I'm not gonna lie, I'm only 7/28 episodes in and I literally can't stop thinking about this show. The natural acting & chemistry, the fluid writing, the dreamy cinematography. I'm seriously hooked and thoroughly impressed. No doubt, this series will wreck me.
