Hey everyone!

I'm Annie (she/her) -- an almost 30-year old (YIKES) interior designer currently living in the USA and seeking solace from all the chaos going on right now, so here I am, escaping through Asian dramas!

I started my BL / Asian drama journey mid-2025 because of a random edit I saw... I watch mainly Thai BL dramas but have been venturing out to other things lately like K-dramas and J-BLs. There are SO MANY things to watch haha…

I guess I'm stuck watching shows with subtitles for the rest of my life :)

---a little bit about me & how I approach watching a series :---

It basically boils down to this: my love for characters/series is EXTREMELY dependent on the quality of writing and acting. If a character is written without emotional depth, the story relies more on cliches/stereotypes rather than character growth, or the acting feels detached from the character as it’s written, odds are I'm going to have a hard time watching a series.

I was raised by a dad who teaches film production and a mother who works in social work and special education. One parent taught me to see the world through an artistic lens while also valuing the little details in our every day lives, and the other parent taught me the importance of empathy and understanding the complexity of human behavior. Pair all of that with my naturally observant nature and you can see how I tend to approach the media I consume from both a writing perspective and an emotionally-intelligent perspective.

Obviously, I also love a good guilty-pleasure show from time to time with messy characters and a lacking plot, but only when I’m able to fully separate myself from the characters and just have a good time.
