BL Challenge 2026

Challenge 1 - A Korean BL

Not the worst Christmas finale I watched this week so that's saying somthing. I mean it was bad...but not the worst thing I've ever watched.

Challenge 2 - Thai BL

It wasn't bad but not one I will ever watch again.

Challenge 3 - Chinese BL

Easily my favourite of the CBL's this year it was dark and artistic.

Challenge 4 - Japanese BL

Short but cute, there really wasn't much plot it was mostly PWP but a quick little binge so I was not that upset about it.

Challenge 5 - Taiwanese BL

I feel bad for the basketball guy who was so sweet, and that plot was such a mess. OST absolute fire though.

Challenge 6 - BL from a country not mentioned above (Singapore BL)

Well that was an ending? I mean I liked it but what was with the comets?

Challenge 7 - Medical Emergency: A character visits the other character's living space upon hearing they are ill

That ending, I have never been so annoyed in my life. You honestly thought we wanted to see how happy they would have been with healthy communication? And you killed off Don for no reason at all...what a stupid show. Don't watch, don't recommend.

Challenge 8 - Relationship Dynamic: Opposites Attract (Cop and Assassin)

Good little indie series; could have been darker...ending was a little meh.

Challenge 9 - Setting: Sports Camp

What a letdown, terrible series, that was not the right one to end it on.

Challenge 10 - Emotional Development: Unrequited Love

I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it. This ending with anticipation of a season 2 needs to stop. We know it won't happen, but they keep doing it anyway.

Challenge 11 - Conflicts: Hidden Secret Breakup

I have not rage-watched a series in a long while but my god, I hated that main couple.

Challenge 12 - Character Archetypes: Protective Character (Always there during times of conflict or emotional distress)

I wish any other company but GMM had adapted this....they santized it. Was like a PG detective story.

Challenge 13 - Friends: Main Character's friend group could be their own comedy show

It wasn't great I'm not a slow burn, and this was really slow burn....not one I would ever watch again.

Challenge 14 - Family: MC has no family

Hands down my fav Thai BL of the year, immaculate cannot wait for another series from them

Challenge 15 - Common Trope: Height Difference

Another utter let down...do not recommend what a weird shift in tones.

Challenge 16 - Subverted Tropes: Healthy boundaries

This is sort of a weird one, it was way heavier then I anticipated there was a lot going on with all the plots. But they really committed to the bike thing.

Challenge 17 - Cultural References: Character pays respect to a funeral portrait (relevant to their love interest)

The boys were much better this series then in the last one, flowers to them for their hard work. Not an original plot, but the visuals were cute.

Challenge 18 - Food and drink: Couple Feeds Each Other

I was with this mess until the finale where they had zero sexy time....in a series that was mostly sexy time wtf....it was actually a worse finale then Tide 2.

Challenge 19 - Confession: Drunk confession

I saw the vision but I think they lost the plot this series took a turn in the second half and had an existential crisis. Still that hotel scence just be living rent free,

Challenge 20 - A BL chosen by trope: Why are we still doing this in 2026? : Non-con Kiss

Trigger warnings for days, why are we still doing these in modern day?

Challenge 21 - A BL using product placement during an intimate moment.

I was not a fan at all.

Challenge 22 - A BL you would NOT want to turn into a drinking game because one word, phrase or placement comes up so often you would die of liver failure

I'm not a huge Boss-Nouel fan bit I did stay for this one, although it was pretty lame.

Challenge 23 - A BL starring a repeat parent of BL Dramaland.

I love them so much, top series this year I have rewatched several times already.

Challenge 24 - A BL where an actor plays multiple characters in the same series with distinct personalities

That's the best indie BL I've watched in a long time, what a well-done series. Honestly somtimes less is more

Challenge 25 - A BL with a supernatural main character (Grim Reaper)

Omg I am simp for a size difference.

Challenge 26 - A BL where a character is consistently shirtless for no apparent reason.

All the fun, did the OA of boyslove

Challenge 27 - A BL that aired before 2020

Challenge 28 - A BL with at least 3 couples

This was the perfect way to end this off what a great series.

Challenge 29 - A BL you loved but could never honestly recommend to anyone else

Challenge 30 - A BL where one character fell first and the other character fell harder.

Loved that it wasn't a high school romnace (thank god); just wish it had a longer run there is a lot of plot they cut.

Challenge 31 - A BL where one character learns that the other character knew/noticed them first.

Took me a while, eventually binged and it wasn't bad but it was also only half baked plot .

Challenge 32 - A BL where one character has been working behind the scenes for the benefit of the other character without them knowing

I quite liked this one, it has a lot going on and some real spicy scences in it.

Challenge 33 - A BL where NO ONE sings or plays the guitar

Hands down had been my fav series this year.

Challenge 34 - A BL starring an actor that is famous outside of acting (Jeff Sautur)

I like a campy sci-fi and it was fun, it took way to long to air, I think all the drama around it took away from it though sadly.

BONUS - GL Series

This was actually an accident I didn't realize it was GL until they were naked in the tube making out....wasn't made about it. Recommend it takes a lot of twists and turns.

BONUS A non BL drama that would work better as a BL drama

You want to look me in the eye and tell me that two men living togeter and sharing bunk beds in a massive house are straight? HA!
