《 villains - so bad but so good 》
actors who did a great job playing villain characters & also villains that were multi-dimensional, memorable and interesting (spoilers)
Sort By: Author's Order
-
Namkoong Min
South Korean
- Nam Gyu Man in Remember: War of the Son: the man that stole the show from everyone in this drama, while the character was absolutely sickening, you couldn't help but enjoy every second he was on screen because NGM's acting was simply entertaining.
-
Go Hyun Jung
South Korean
- Mi Shil in Queen Seon Deok: Best female villain ever, extremely smart, strong, calculated, she had all those attributes that are typically associated with male characters. That kind of villain that you fear and actually have respect for. After her arc the series wasn't the same anymore.
-
Park Bo Gum
South Korean
- Lee Min in I Remember You: this character made me feel all kinds of things lol, he creeped me out at times but yet I just couldn't hate him. PBG is actually great at playing villains, he was impressive here.
-
Choi Won Young
South Korean
- Lee Jae Joon in Doctor Prisoner: his performance is what made me feel for this character at the end, choi won young did a great job portraying the different mental stages this character was in
-
Baek Jin Hee
South Korean
- Tanashilli in Empress Ki: a villain so disgustingly evil, one that you love to hate.
-
Yoo Jae Myung
South Korean
- Deputy Prosecutor Lee in Stranger: While this character was not my favorite at first I think he did a great job showing the different layers of his persona. The character seemed hatable at first but he kinda included a certain melancholy to his acting that almost makes you feel bad for him at the end.
- Jang Dae Hee in Itaewon Class: Jang Dae Hee was a hate-dump big bad villain in a revenge series but I thought this character really had his own color. They did a great job showing how conflicted he was between his work/family and his backstory was believable and tragic. Also YJM sick acting was A+ lmao
-
Go Jun
South Korean
- CEO Hwang Cheol Beom in The Fiery Priest: I hated this character as much as I loved him at the end lmao. It is really that kind of evil character that grows on you as you watch the series, only at the end you realize he wasn't the person you thought he was all the time.
-
Kim Seo Hyung
South Korean
- Kim Joo Young in SKY Castle: this actress always delivers in boss bitch roles I swear, KJY was just like that, she gave the creeps but I weirdly couldn't hate her.
-
Kim Sun Ah
South Korean
- As Park Bok Ja in Woman of Dignity: this woman was ridiculously crazy in a good way lmao, I loved how she basically owned every character, if she just wouldn't have let her guard down she would've been up for world domination
-
Lee Yoo Ri
South Korean
- Yeon Min Jung in Come! Jang Bo Ri: only halfway through this one but her character/acting is carrying the whole drama (everything else is just meh). Love her over-the-top crazy/mean/bad girl acting.
-
Kim Jae Wook
South Korean
- Mo Tae Gu in Voice: While I think the writing of this character was a bit messy, it was the acting that made him stand out. He started out as charismatic murderer but his extremely childish tendencies made it intriguing. And even him listening to Mozart in his bathtub was more interesting than watching those braindead police people. And those suits *chef's kiss*
-
Shin Sung Rok
South Korean
- As MC/Kang Do Young in Liar Game: literally the only reason why I loved this drama so much, this actor always delivers in villain roles and he always adds a certain comedic note which I just enjoy
-
-
Lee Joon Hyuk
South Korean
- Seo Dong Jae in Stranger: disgusting yet hilarious, never forget legendary TT ringtone scene; might not be a true villain but at least an antagonist at some point
-
Ahn Bo Hyun
South Korean
- Jang Geun Won in Itaewon Class: Another character that I loved to hate. I thought the writers did a good job writing him and his downfall as a human (at least for the first 10 eps), while he did evil things I liked how he had fears and issues himself. Plus ABH's acting was surprisingly good, that kind of over-the-top crazy evil acting that almost makes you scream but then laugh and on top those ugly-ass suits lmaooo
-
Kim Ji Hoon
South Korean
- Baek Hee Seong in Flower of Evil: A surprising villain. I liked how he ranged from pathetically wretched pile of trash to extremely creepy and intimidating psychopath given his ponytail transformation. Also the iconic long hair
-
Lee Kyu Hyung
South Korean
- Yoon Se Woon in Stranger: LKH never fails to break my heart! While what he did was wrong, his motives were clear and explained well. He really made you pity him and it was tragic, how he went down the wrong path.
