-
1. Manner of Death
Thai Drama - 2020, 14 episodes
-
2. The Lost Tomb
Chinese Drama - 2015, 10 episodes
-
3. Revenged Love
Chinese Drama - 2025, 24 episodes
-
4. Time Raiders
Chinese Drama - 2025, 18 episodes
-
5. The Mystic Nine: Qing Shan Hai Tang
Chinese Movie - 2022
-
6. Secret Lover
Taiwanese Drama - 2025, 10 episodes
-
7. 3 Will Be Free
Thai Drama - 2019, 10 episodes
It had promise but it didn’t fully reach its potential. It felt like the writers wanted to tackle certain themes but struggled to deliver them. Lovable characters seem to fade into either dullness or unlikability.
-
8. ABO Desire
Chinese Drama - 2025, 16 episodes
Very promising concept and fun start. But the secondary couple was far more interesting than the primary. The ending was disappointing for both couples. And who taught these men how to kiss?
-
9. Addicted
Chinese Drama - 2016, 15 episodes
-
10. Addicted Heroin (Uncut Ver.)
Thai Drama - 2024, 10 episodes
-
11. Top Form
Thai Drama - 2025, 11 episodes
Several continuity errors. But a sweet romance, good acting and generally entertaining. The misunderstanding is suitably heartbreaking and believable for the characters’ personalities (stubborn and immature versus closed off).
-
12. Chains of Heart
Thai Drama - 2023, 10 episodes
-
13. Bad Romance
Thai Drama - 2016, 13 episodes
Diabolical mental health representation. Very weird plot. Unlikable characters. And of course my favourite was the baddie.
-
14. Lost in Japan
Chinese Movie - 2016
Very bizarre movie. Got a few chuckles from me but mainly confusion (the story is simple but some chronology/editing choices were weird).
-
15. Dangerous Drugs of Sex
Japanese Movie - 2020
I couldn’t get my head around how the main character forgave the cruelty. His oppressor’s reasoning doesn’t convince me.
-
16. His
Japanese Movie - 2020
This was lovely and gave me a more emotionally mature Call Me by Your Name vibe. Adored the lead actor Miyazawa Hio.
-
17. Egoist
Japanese Movie - 2022
The entire first half of the movie, I was waiting for the other shoe to drop and when it did, it was devastating. I love this film but it’s painful, so it’ll take a while before I could watch it again.
-
18. Double Mints
Japanese Movie - 2017
Didn’t make as much of an impact as I hoped. Felt a little too weird and directionless.
-
19. Night Flight
Korean Movie - 2014
This one was gritty and cruel and so well made but left me hollowed out after. Heartwrenching.
-
20. Restart after Come back Home
Japanese Movie - 2020
A sweet, subdued rural romance that gives me a much softer Gods Own Country vibe.
-
21. Me and Thee
Thai Drama - 2025, 10 episodes
Funny and sweet. It gives a few giggles but the story is a little bland. Thee is too immature to be a believable as a CEO and it makes the romance unbelievable, too. He is likable though. Feel good viewing.
-
22. Sammy's Children's Day
Hong Kong Drama - 2026, 9 episodes
Cool visuals. The dubbing is distracting. Believably brutal triad love interest while still upkeeping the funny tone.
-
23. To My Shore
Chinese Drama - 2025, 15 episodes
-
24. The Effect
Thai Drama - 2019, 3 episodes
Went into this completely blind and found it to be far darker than anticipated. But it was a very strong, important story (especially when it inhabits a space that frequently romanticises these issues). It's heartwrenching but totally believable.
It was the perfect length. I just wish there was more variation in music (and the music was probably the most mislieading thing about the story.)
-
25. Move to Heaven
Korean Drama - 2021, 10 episodes
Beautiful and well crafted. Cried every episode.
-
26. Old Fashion Cupcake
Japanese Drama - 2022, 5 episodes
Sweet and concise story with an emotionally believable storyline. There were genuinely funny moments and Nozue and Togawa are likeable.
-
27. Triage
Thai Drama - 2022, 13 episodes
I overlooked the fact I don't like time loops because I enjoy Sammon's work. Watching this was a fine line between my discomfort with the time loop genre and the enjoyment of a well made, interesting show. This was far more stressful than Manner of Death and 4 Minutes smushed together.
Tin made the stress worthwhile.
-
28. Unknown
Taiwanese Drama - 2024, 12 episodes
I am pleased to have watched this. It was entertaining and sweet comfort food type show. It wasn’t too deep or too stressful.
I disagree with the show’s insistence that it needed to justify the relationships, because that’s when it highlights the flaw in its own logic.
It’s very tight with limited settings and no sprawling grand storyline. It’s grounded if a little soft around the edges as if avoiding the issues it’s trying to explore.
-
29. Drama Special Season 15: The History of Us
Korean Special - 2024, 1 episode
Wonderfully made and compelling Royal Court storytelling. The actors really sold it.
-
30. Beyond Evil
Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
A rich and complex mystery thriller that rewards the viewer for paying attention. The character growth is tangible and the world is grounded and compelling.
-
31. Empire of Lust
Korean Movie - 2015
What the story lacked in substance, it tried to make up for in graphic violence and sex. It was pretty one-note.
-
32. The Crowned Clown
Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
I’d describe the show as having Game of thrones’ politicking and none of the brutality. It had a romance that resembled the courtly Middle English romances.
It started out with and of humor that it lost somewhere along the way. It was very strong and entertaining for most episodes but flagged at the 12-14 mark and picked back up at 15-16.
The clown lost a lot of his personality whenever the romance became a factor and when he ‘settled in’ as King.
The ending was clunky and unnecessary, feeling like they had a kill count they needed to bring up and the last half hour of episode to fill
-
33. Shoot My Heart
Korean Movie - 2015
Very enjoyable with some funny and some cheesy moments. Entertaining and sweet.
-
34. Just Friends?
Korean Movie - 2009
I always walk into things blind and I certainly did not expect this. It’s sweet and camp but a very simple, short story.
-
35. No Mercy for the Rude
Korean Movie - 2006
My enjoyment of dark comedies with oddball humour depends on my mood. It was a strange mix of very serious topics and physical gags. I laughed quite a bit but I think it would have benefitted from fleshing out the story structure a little more. Predictable where it is structured.
Felt longer than it was.
-
36. A Frozen Flower
Korean Movie - 2008
I struggled to but couldn't manage to side with Hong Rim and the Queen. The pair had no chemistry and it felt very forced. Then there's the fact that they betrayed their King. I felt like they could have done more to show why Hong Nim betrayed his lifelong loyalty. They didn't give us enough time with either couple but you could buy the King's obsession more as it carried through in everything he did, even when the scenes had nothing to do with romance.
Otherwise, it's a compelling story that went both unexpectedly in some parts and predictably in others.
Joo Jin Mo gave a stellar performance. And I kind of feel bad for the King.
-
37. For the Emperor
Korean Movie - 2014
It's got some fun adrenaline pumping fight scenes and an interesting criminal storyline (if a little messy - but I won't judge as it was likely due to subtitles). It's a shame to see actor Lee Min Ki take a role where the lead is not as emotive. Lee Min Ki was so expressive in Shoot My Heart, I was hoping to see more facial movements. I feel like there could have been more clarity on the 'love interests' motivations as that had potential but they didn't do much with it. And I would have appreciated more scenes of Sang Ha and Yi Hwan interacting to truly sell the 'grooming into crime' and the final scenes of them dying together.
-
38. Monster
Korean Movie - 2014
It resembles a less serious 'No Country for Old Men', complete with it's own Anton Chigurh-lite antagonist. But when I say antagonist, I mean one of many because basically everyone is a douche in some way (except the child).
I actually quite like the idea of exploring it in that aspect. Who is the monster? The near-unstoppable serial killer; the greedy enabler brother; the mother who denies the abuse her sons faced in childhood; the countless people who failed to help... Or the greedy businessmen who exploit the vulnerable for their own gain?
Honestly, there were moments where I found Bok Sun and Nari annoying together. Specifically when they're wailing at each other and talking each other into circles. However, Nari on her own or Tae Su might be my favourite characters. Nari is resilient while Tae Su is what brings life to the film.
