Overrated/Disappointing
These are in no particular order and are based on my opinion. Some spoilers included.
-
1. Burnout Syndrome
Thai Drama - 2025, 10 episodes
Great acting can only carry a show so far when the plot and script aren't pulling their weight.
I couldn't connect to any of the characters, so I didn't care about what they were going through. I couldn't even remember their names half the time.
The best thing about this series is that it shows how AI is ruining creativity and taking jobs.
Watching this honestly felt like a waste of time; I gained nothing from it, not even enjoyment.
-
2. Knock Out
Thai Drama - 2025, 12 episodes
I couldn't even finish this one; I only watched 6 episodes.
Both couples just fell together with little to no buildup or tension, and the plot kept recycling itself. A character would have a money problem, Than would be the solution, rinse and repeat.
Every episode was too LONG! One was 1 hour and 28 minutes! For no good reason!
-
3. Laws of Attraction
Thai Drama - 2023, 8 episodes
Watched on YouTube, the background audio was gone the whole time. It made the fights so stupid. The fire and explosions were so fake.
I hate Charn's smile. I almost stopped watching so many times because of it. Man is broken.
What's wild is that if they had just apologized and shown remorse for killing his niece, none of this would have happened.
The side couple was more interesting than the main. Charn was just too unsettling.
All in all, it was very meh. -
4. ABO Desire
Chinese Drama - 2025, 16 episodes
I love Omegaverses, but this just wasn't it.
The acting and characters were fine, the side couple didn't get enough time in my opinion, but my main problem was with the plot and script. They talked in circles way too much, and a lot of the dialogue is them telling a character to do something when they've already done it.
"This is so stupid," ran through my head more than a couple of times.
Fighting was laughably bad. Most of the effects are.
The episode cut-offs are so abrupt. Every episode also had no concept of time. Things just happened without telling us how much time had passed. The last episode was really bad because it felt like we missed so much. It was like watching clips or an hour-long trailer, not a final.
-
5. Love Alert
Thai Drama - 2025, 10 episodes
I don't know why I finished this.
Acting was bad; relationships, script, and plot were weak. None of the characters were likeable.
OST; they met their sad music quota because we got plenty of the violins.
-
6. Absolute Zero
Thai Drama - 2023, 12 episodes
Pacing is so slow, and the plot is so boring that I watched it on 2X speed right from the beginning. The episodes aren't even 50+ minutes long; 10 minutes are credits.
Characters aren't well developed because we spend too much time doing nothing.
The older versions of them are only 10 years older when they look around 20-30 years older. They could have just used the same actors. Using makeup to age a person up is a thing.
Also, why is Soon trying to prevent the accident? Ongsa may be fine. He's in a coma. Not dead. I want to know if he actually would have died in the original timeline.
The time-traveling is never fully explained and is inconsistent.
Why did they have to be apart for 10 years? One day could have been enough to change everything. It also feels a bit like cheating that they can remember everything.
Isn't there a well-used trope of NOT meeting your other self when you time-travel? This series threw that out the fucking window, which I respect in a way.
-
7. Top Form
Thai Drama - 2025, 11 episodes
Jin doesn't have a personality; he only cares about Akin. He only tries to further his career and work harder because of Akin. Neither character existed much outside of their careers.
The pacing also made it difficult for me to get through, so I was watching it at 1.5 and 2X speed.
This was in no way a bad series, but I definitely think it is overrated.
-
8. My Dear Gangster Oppa
Thai Drama - 2023, 8 episodes
Acting just wasn't that good.
Lost interest halfway through episode 5. I didn't even pay attention to the final episode.
Boss is such a cringy character. It was also way too obvious that he was doing shady shit.
Tew(or Thiu) not killing Kenji was a stupid ass move. This guy has constantly been out to get you! Don't let him live! He let's this bitch live not once, not twice, but three times! Fucking idiot.
Not a good gangster show at all. It was honestly a waste of time. -
9. My Golden Blood
Thai Drama - 2025, 12 episodes
I'm sorry, vampire lore where? NOWHERE TO BE SEEN!
If you are going to make a fantasy series, you have to build up the world and lore. You also can't take away the common lore that we know and replace it with NOTHING.
I wrote a review for this one if you want to read most of my frustrated thoughts.
-
10. Even Sun
Thai Drama - 2022, 6 episodes
This series had so much potential, but it needed more episodes. With good translations and maybe 2-6 more episodes, this show could have been great. Boun and Prem are great actors, and they did their best, but 6 episodes with this heavy a plot just wasn't enough.
-
11. Star and Sky: Sky in Your Heart
Thai Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
All the near-missed meetings at the end started pissing me off real fast. Two would have been fine. There's like eight!
-
12. Together with Me
Thai Drama - 2017, 13 episodes
The editing is very different and not really in a good way, and what the fuck is this OST? So bad. The background noise is WAY too loud.
Predictable plot and villain.
This show simply had too much unnecessary cheating. Don't stay with your girlfriend because you feel guilty for cheating on her, especially if you are going to keep cheating. Just break up. If they had this, the drama would have been at least 3 episodes shorter. So much cheating happened in the past and the present that I really couldn't feel bad for any of them.
Paper airplanes are not this consistent. I don't know why, but this really annoyed me.
Side character stories felt pointless, even though I was more invested in Farm's plotline at the end than our mains because of the non-consensual gangbang. Farm's personality changes so much after that, and I want to know more, but not enough to watch the sequels.
I know more cheating happens in the sequels as well, so definitely not watching them.
-
13. Like in the Movies
Filipino Drama - 2020, 8 episodes
The couple was only cute in the montage moments.
-
14. Love's Coming
Thai Movie - 2014
It just wasn't good.
-
15. Lovely Writer
Thai Drama - 2021, 12 episodes
The show is meh, but the overly exaggerated gulps are the most annoying. They also overuse sound effects.
Plot was predictable, and the dad was weird for thinking his son was gay at 4 years old just because he had a crush on another boy. He was 4!
They didn't care about the second couple at all; they were just used for the promo scenes.
Honestly, after episode 8, I lost interest. Almost 30 minutes of the last episode could have been cut. Too much filler.
I did like them touching on how toxic fan culture can be and its effects on people's personal lives.
The actual author of Lovely Writer appeared and showed that Gene and Nubsib in the series aren’t real, they’re imaginary characters, which was very meta & I love that.
-
16. LoveSick 2024
Thai Drama - 2024, 15 episodes
This remake made it easier to tell characters apart. Still didn't remember 90% of their names. I cared more about the side couples than in the original.
I don't understand why it took our main couple so long to get together, given that they confessed to liking each other in episode 3.
Half the drama in this show was unnecessary.
Why is Noh falling asleep literally everywhere? Even on the toilet!
The most frustrating thing about the series was Noh never saying anything about dating Phun & just not listening, and getting easily distracted. All his friends are gay! Why keep it a secret?
Half of episode 14 & all of 15 could have just been one condensed episode.
-
17. Marry a CEO
Thai Drama - 2025, 55 episodes
I can't believe I finished this one. None of the characters had two brain cells to rub together.
-
18. My Gear and Your Gown
Thai Drama - 2020, 12 episodes
FINALLY, AJ GOT A ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIP! Sad that it was in the most disappointing series I've seen him in, but I'll still count it as a win.
This series felt like it was all over the place, and the couples didn't feel like they came together well. It's like they just formed and stuck with little work or deep emotional impact.
Acting was great, but the story was not. The OST was also terrible.
-
19. No Dating at Boarding School
Korean Drama - 2025, 50 episodes
It had potential.
-
20. OMG! Vampire: Uncut Version
Thai Drama - 2024, 8 episodes
This vampire series had lore, but so much of it didn't make sense at all. They really went with the cliche trope that the power of love can do anything. The population problem didn't make sense, nor did the parallel worlds thing, if you can call it that. The way time worked, and Phum having a doubleganger when he shouldn't, also gave me a headache.
This was a comedy, admittedly funny, that should have existed just to be funny and not try to be deep at all.
This also had the opposite problem of Golden Blood, where the vampires were "impossible" to kill; in this series, breaking the neck works.
-
21. Past-Senger
Thai Drama - 2023, 12 episodes
Stupid and a waste of time. The plot was boring, the pacing was bad, the sound and camera angles were bad, and the ending was just fucking creepy and should have set off alarm bells, but apparently was given the okay. Kaio should have just stayed in the future, or they all should have forgotten each other.
From episode 7 on, I started watching at 1.5 and 2x speed.
The amnesia plot wasn't needed. Without it, the series could have been 10 episodes.
-
22. Revenged Love
Chinese Drama - 2025, 24 episodes
The first half of this show was fine, but at some point, it got very rushed, and we didn't get to spend enough time on the problems that were happening around them. They would have a problem and solve it way too quickly, and the emotionally impactful moments we should have had were brushed aside before I could even get emotional.
-
23. The Best Story
Thai Drama - 2021, 3 episodes
It was not, in fact, the best story, but War's acting was great.
-
24. The Boy Next World
Thai Drama - 2025, 10 episodes
This had so much potential, but the parallel universe stuff was never properly explained. That aside, Cirrus has some mental problems, and if he and Phu have a falling out, I fear for both their safety.
-
25. To You, for Me
Chinese Movie - 2015
This movie was weird. Time travel is involved. Maybe. It could be a time loop. It was left open-ended as well, which is cruel, and why I think the characters are stuck in a loop.
-
26. Wedding Plan
Thai Drama - 2023, 7 episodes
Best thing about this show was getting to see my babies from Love in the Air be happy. I gave it a 6 just for my boy's otherwise it's a 5 at most.
This show forms the main relationship on cheating. Some would argue that it's not because the couple getting married are just friends and they are getting married for their families with no feelings attached. Lom & Yiwa are so selfish to put their partners through this emotional hell just because they can't stand up to their parents.
Marina shouldn't be okay about it, but at least she knows! Nuea is completely in the dark & is carrying around so much guilt. He should have handed the wedding planning over to someone else once he started catching feelings and the groom was flirting with him.
-
27. Reset
Thai Drama - 2025, 10 episodes
The acting and story were great.
The sky looked fake most of the time, and in a couple of scenes, so does the background.
The romance felt fake. To me, it also didn't have any emotional impact, which made no sense since someone is actively trying to kill Armin. It felt more like Tada imprinted on Armin, and Armin finally got some love and support and didn't want to let it go. Armin also never questions what has been his own ability and what has been bought for him. So there is a major power imbalance in the relationship that is just never acknowledged.
Got shot. 6 months later, not even a scar.
Why did everyone in Armin's first life hate him so much? I'm most interested to know why Lily hated him. And why did Armin have all his memories, but not Tada, if Tada was the start of all this? Why did it take so long for Thiwthit to try to kill Armin in his first life? Had he made multiple attempts up to the point where he actually died?
Each episode could have been shorter, but they have so many moments where the characters are just staring at each other.
-
28. Secret Crush on You
Thai Drama - 2022, 14 episodes
Watched at X1.25 & X2 speed. This series was 4 episodes longer than it needed to be, and that is with them doing 2 main couples and 3 background ones. My attention drifted so much in the last 3 episodes that I'm sure I missed things.
I wouldn't watch it again.
This series also romanticized stalking. I know the novel title is "Stalker" (I found that out halfway through the series), but it needed to be toned down a bit. Maybe this was the toned-down version, I don't know. Toh's obsession with Nuea was disturbing. Stop collecting his trash! Especially the food. He's also way more perverted than I was expecting. Toh also gave me second and third-hand embarrassment.
-
29. Oxygen
Thai Drama - 2020, 13 episodes
This series could have been 3 episodes shorter; I wouldn't have even finished it if I hadn't watched it at X2 speed because the plot up to the internship in episode 10 was uninteresting. Up to that point, I only cared about Kao and Phu's relationship, and Phu's acting is very stiff; it was his first role, so I'm not surprised, but it made even the scenes I cared about hard to watch.
-
30. Bad Guy My Boss
Thai Drama - 2024, 12 episodes
Unlike Love Alert, I didn't make myself finish this one. I gave it a fair chance; I watched 5 episodes and was bored the whole time. I watched it at 2X speed just to get through it.
The characters felt flat, and I didn't care about them. The chemistry between the characters was meh at best. The plot was weak and seemed to be going nowhere.
If I'm all for one of the characters putting distance between them and the person they are going to end up with, something is wrong. I've watched a lot of series with red and black flags, and I want them to have their happy ending. Here, I wanted the relationship to never exist.
This isn't the worst series I've seen, but at its current rating of 6.8, I definitely feel it's overrated.
-
31. Monster Next Door
Thai Drama - 2024, 12 episodes
Dropped after 4 episodes.
No matter how introverted I can be, I would never want to date someone without knowing what they look like. I don't know anyone who would.
God and his friends are literal children. Beer is the only adult. Biu is basically a boy.
The angle & devil thing got annoying fast.
Mom was annoying. Telling her son to go out and party one minute to demanding his friends' numbers when he misses responding to 1 message. She also messages him way too much.
I got bored very fast because nothing interesting was happening. I found myself just playing a game on my phone while it played in the background, so I dropped it.
-
32. Ossan's Love Thailand
Thai Drama - 2025, 12 episodes
Dropped after 2 episodes. The only reason I even watched episode 2 was that I knew Frist and Khaotung would make an appearance.
I hate that I didn't like this one because I love Earth and Mix.
This isn't my kind of comedy at all. I expect this level of exaggerated humor in a Japanese drama, not a Thai one. And yes, I know there is a Japanese version.
I also couldn't stand the main character, Heng. He is not mature at all, and he's 30 years old! He may get better, but I'm not waiting for him to get his act together. Earth playing this kind of role feels wrong.
The boss also made me very uncomfortable. He's hitting on Heng, taking so many pictures, and touching without permission. He was basically a stalker who had unlimited access to the person he was stalking.
-
33. Doctor's Mine
Thai Drama - 2025, 10 episodes
The non-existent rape wasn't handled well and was stretched out way too long for the supposed weight of the situation. Knight never defends himself about it, and the brother of the "victim," Mud, does nothing about it, not even talking to his brother about it, who apparently didn't even know it happened. Okay.
Mud's character is also dropped completely after the reveal, like he never existed.
Poor handling of the plot and half the characters.
-
34. Melody of Secrets
Thai Drama - 2025, 10 episodes
Easily the best thing about this series was the cinematography.
The acting was good, especially Jan (Dao) and Pu (the grandma). I normally don't like Force and Books acting, but it was good here, especially Book.
The identity reveal at the end was done well.
Other than these 3 things, I was so frustrated with the script writers' handling of the "investigation" and the murder (basically how they thought it would actually surprise anyone) that I didn't really see many other good things. I wrote a long review if you're interested in reading my rant.
-
35. Rearrange
Thai Drama - 2025, 10 episodes
More mature than a lot of the Thai BL's I've seen, and it does a great job of showing that you can change some things, but others may be set in stone. You may not be able to change some things, no matter how hard you try, while others may change with no effort.
OST is good.
The biggest problem is that it was lacking in the development of the relationships, the chemistry was okay in the non-intimate scenes, and in the intimate scenes, it just felt awkward. The story also felt lacking in some other areas, like in their everyday life, what has actually even changed from the original timeline, and their rapid rise to fame in the end, and where it led. And maybe it was Win's knowledge and maturity that made their problems easy to solve, but they really were. The biggest problem was Nut lying about his health and his father being an asshole; everything else was solved in minutes after the problem came up.
It's an alright series, and it has the important message of living your life to the fullest because you never know when you will die, and no one gets a second chance, but its rating is too high. It's a 7 at most
-
36. Fight for You
Taiwanese Drama - 2025, 12 episodes
The POV shots are not good.
Every episode begins with a monologue that isn't needed.
Bai was shot in the gut, but sent home the same day? WTF. Also, he was shot in the back, but the wound is in the front, and the shot should have been in his shoulder.
The chemistry between the actors is just okay. Probably because the relationship needed more build-up.
I like grandma. She is scary when pissed. Even grandpa, the grandchild beater, is scared of her.
We are told the sister is okay, but never see or hear about her afterward. Not even after years pass.
Overall, it was alright, but I think the average rating is too high.
-
37. To Be Continued
Thai Drama - 2024, 8 episodes
Achi's smile creeped me out.
I was very bored for the majority of this series. Anytime there was a flashback? Bored. There were dozens of them as well, placed literally everywhere in the story. Side couple time? Bored to yawning, which is sad because I liked Ki. My attention drifted so much during their scenes that it was a full-time job staying focused. Anytime Ji and Achi were in Ji's apartment? You guessed it, bored. Honestly, bored and annoyed.
The plot had potential, but it felt like no effort went into making it anything more than mediocre.
