1. My Love from the Star
Korean Drama - 2013, 21 episodes
I thought My Love from Another Star had fantastic plot. Basically an alien (Kim Soo Hyun) falls to earth in the Joseon Era. He’s stranded there, so he learns the culture and centuries later, he is a psychology teacher at a College. It just so happens that there’s a movie star (Jun Ji Hyun) Who needs to take his class for experience in her role. They meet each other in other ways, as well. - u/elynwen
One of my favorites, My Love From Another Star, is a classic like Coffee Prince and a fun rom com with a supernatural element. It’s one of the only dramas I’ve ever rewatched, I loved it so much! - u/sierra-like-the-mist
My love from another star - you either laugh at the female lead's self importance or turn off the drama. Shin Sung Rock is marvellous as usual. Lots of laughs. - u/the-other-otter

2. The Master's Sun
Korean Drama - 2013, 17 episodes
The Master's Sun is about a girl who can ghosts and a chaebol guy who's sort of her 'shelter' from the ghost since when she touches him, the ghosts disappear. - u/simjaang
The Master's Sun - every ghost case gives a personal development for either the female or the male lead. Unfortunately second to last episode has something annoying, I think the drama was extended, but the ending is fine. - u/the-other-otter
It's a classic in the ghost genre! - u/Turquoise-Turmoil
Master's Sun - It is horror so there are a few jump scares, but they toned it down after the first 2 episodes. Sort of like ghost whisperer, where the female lead can see ghosts and tries to help them. The ghost dog gets me every time. - u/gentleindifferences
I watched Master's Sun and enjoyed it a lot even though at first I nearly dropped it. But now I consider it one of the best dramas in that genre. - u/sadhopelessloner

3. I Hear Your Voice
Korean Drama - 2013, 18 episodes
I hear your voice - fantasy/crime - a guy who can hear people's thoughts is set to protect the lawyer who saved his life by testifying in court from the person who murdered his father and is about to be released from prison. - u/Turquoise-Turmoil
I Hear Your Voice - Telepathy is a curse, but aids a man sworn to protect his savior. - unknown
I Hear Your Voice - NO WORDS CAN EXPRESS HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS DRAMA. - u/ultseulgi
I hear your voice - Very well written plot. Each character undergoes great individual growth. And the different relations between the characters feel real and meaningful thanks to having been well managed and executed (both by the writer and the actors). Lovely otp, even though all the supporting cast grows dear by the end of the show. - u/skyle2002

4. Secret Investigation Record
Korean Drama - 2010, 12 episodes
This is a historical fusion. This drama is based on events recorded in the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty. Some believe it was a UFO. Others think it was a comet. The supernatural and paranormal possibilities are explored in the drama.
This is a monster-of-the-week type drama. Similar to the X-Files AND Doctor Who. - u/life-finds-a-way
I ended up watching Joseon X-Files 3 times, it was that good. - unknown
multiple supernatural elements - ghost, aliens, etc

5. Arang and the Magistrate
Korean Drama - 2012, 20 episodes
Arang and the Magistrate - Arang is a Ghost and she doesn’t know why. Being the strong female lead that she is, Arang demands that the Jade emperor (Heavenly Monarch) give her time to find out how she died in order to ascend to Heaven. The Jade emperor gives her 3 moons of time - if she can’t figure it out by then, she’s doomed to hell.
Amazing series. Arang played by Shin Min Ah, and the Magistrate by Lee Jun Ki fresh out of the military. He does all of his own impressive stunts. Can’t recommend it enough. - u/elynwen
Arang and the Magistrate Cute ghosts, scary ghosts and funny shamans. It is low production cost, but the story and the acting makes up for it. The best of Lee Joon Ki. - u/the-other-otter
a really underrated fantasy sageuk in my opinion. - u/stone_soup

6. My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho
Korean Drama - 2010, 16 episodes
My Girlfriend is a Gumiho is about a contract relationship between a young man and a gumiho (nine tailed fox), it's cute, fun and funny most of the time, and the leads have excellent chemistry. - u/sianiam
My Girlfriend is a Gumiho Cute, innocent girl with superpowers meets boy who can pay for meat. - u/the-other-otter
this one is the best romantic comedy drama i have seen yet with a developed plot line as well. just adorable - will bring you lots of laughter and tears. - u/czhao97
Shin Min Ah, Lee Sung Gi, gumiho, what's not to like! - u/agehaya

7. 49 Days
Korean Drama - 2011, 20 episodes
49 Days is my absolute fave! It’s about this woman who “dies” (her body goes into a coma) a couple of days before her wedding and in order to come back she needs to get 3 people to cry for her. She has 49 days to accomplish her task, and she has to inhabit another body (stranger) to do it. This is more fantasy than comedy but it does has it light moments. - u/seashell0322
body swap, grim reaper

8. Oh My Ghost
Korean Drama - 2015, 16 episodes
Super shy kitchen hand is possessed by a man crazy ghost.
Why you should watch: Enjoyable rom-com with excellent cast and great chemistry between the leads. - u/sianiam
Oh My Ghostess - mousy kitchen worker adores cocky chef, but needs the help of an eager virgin ghost to win his attention. - unknown
Oh My Ghostess - This is a fantasy rom-com. The FL gets possessed by a "virgin" ghost and ends up seducing the ML. It's a hilarious and cute drama but also has a mystery aspect to it. You'll be surprised to see Shin Hye-Sun in her early days and I loved the rapport between the main trio. The main leads had great chemistry and you're in for a treat with this drama. - u/Fatooz

9. Strong Woman Do Bong Soon
Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes
Woman with superhuman strength becomes a bodyguard to a CEO, meanwhile a case of serial kidnappings occur, can she use her powers for good without getting caught/losing them?
Why you should watch: Watch one episode and you will be hooked, this drama is an adorable cute-fest. The dual story lines don’t work for everyone but I found the darkness balanced out the fluff perfectly well. - u/sianiam
super strength
-
10. The Legend of the Blue Sea
Korean Drama - 2016, 20 episodes
Romance between a mermaid and a man over two lifetimes
Why you should watch: Jun Ji Hyun is hilarious in this drama. If you liked My Love From Another Star or Chicago Typewriter you will probably enjoy this as it shares (different) elements with both of these (also great sci-fi/fantasy) dramas. While not a perfect drama it is an enjoyable watch. - u/sianiam
Legend of the Blue Sea - like Love from another star also has Jun Ji Hyun as female lead: the worlds cutest and funniest mermaid. Also contains the sassiest maid, the best friends, but a boring villain. You can skip the historic part without really missing much, just remember "parallell". - u/the-other-otter
Legend of the Blue Sea - This is another fantasy/sci-fi drama where the FL is a mermaid and falls for the ML who is a con man. This drama is a literal fish-out-of-water comedy romance. The main leads are both goofballs and have great comic timing. I also loved the underrated and wholesome friendships between the three guys who lived together and the FL's two "weird" friends. It's a full package of a drama. - u/Fatooz
mermaids, reincarnation
-
11. W
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
W: Two Worlds - Once there was a very popular webtoon. Suddenly, the author was missing! His daughter decided to find him only to be pulled inside the Webtoon! Watch how the daughter deals with her life being inside and outside of the Webtoon. - u/Thundergod250
W is all about that metaphysics, featuring a romance across two universes. A young doctor finds herself traveling between reality and comic book world created by her father. - u/matthewofthemany
W -Two Worlds - The FL gets pulled in a WebToon by the ML and ends up saving him. This is a fantasy romantic thriller. The main leads had sparks flying ever since their first meeting. It has a unique concept and the first half is solid in terms of writing. The second half gets a bit messy and might not be everyone's cup of tea but it's an entertaining watch. - u/Fatooz
parallel worlds
-
12. Goblin
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
Goblin is about Dokkaebi and Reapers and Ghosts trying to live relatively normal lives and a human girl who gets caught up in it all. Similar to Being Human, but with all that added Korean flair. - u/matthewofthemany
Goblin - Grim Reapers, Ghosts, a 900+ year old Dokkaebi, all interacting with one human girl. Weirdly it's their interactions with the very mundane things that makes this show hilarious. - u/UkEuropeEarth
dokkaebi, grim reaper, goblin, gods, reincarnation, etc

13. Bring It On, Ghost
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes

Let's Fight, Ghost! - cute ghostbuster guy meets cute ghost student who's up for ghostbusting, and they are very, very cute together, plus stellar comic performances from secondary characters. - unknown

14. Tomorrow with You
Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes
Yoo So Joon is the successful CEO of a real estate company who has the ability to time travel when he takes the subway. Going back and forth in time, he sees his future self living a life of torment and unhappiness. To try to offset his doomed future, he decides to marry Song Ma Rin, a cheery photographer, even though he does not love her. Can Ma Rin help So Joon change his unhappy future? - u/thabz2281
It's a time-travel drama that will probably mess up your head a little but the romance is great and it's beautifully shot. - u/zazzizaz
Tomorrow with You -- a Time Traveler who uses the subway (to go the future and to return) finds out when he and a woman will die, then does all he can to manipulate the future to avoid that. A wild ride, but not too confusing. Slow burn romance. - u/LcLou02

15. Circle
Korean Drama - 2017, 12 episodes
Each episode is in two parts very very connected to each other, one part taking place in 2017 detailing the mystery surrounding an alien and the second part in 2037 in a city where emotions are regulated. With intriguing ethical questions and twists everywhere, I've been looking for this more concept based sci-fi in Korean drama. - u/migster99
time travel, brotherhood, aliens and an extremely engaging Yeo Gin Joo - u/deviantrockstar
Circle. It's a sci-fi show that follows the story of two brothers, an alien, and a scientist. When the boys were young, them and their dad see an alien appear out of nowhere in the form of a girl. The dad ends up bringing her into the family. One day, the dad and the alien leave, never to be seen again. The boys grow up and we see one of them go to college while the other one is still obsessed with the ideas of aliens. When the alien obsessed brother goes missing, his brother resolves to find him and solve the mystery of what really happened. It's unique in that each half of the episode takes place in a different timeline. One is in the present day, one is in the future. Super interesting and refreshing K-Drama genre - u/whatthefudgeamidoing

16. A Korean Odyssey
Korean Drama - 2017, 20 episodes
Hwayugi (Korean Odyssey) - a loose adaptation of Journey to the West. Human woman gets tasked with preventing the end of the world, all whilst demons and ghosts keep trying to eat her. There's also quite a complicated romance, but if you can get over the manipulation it's fairly sweet. - u/UkEuropeEarth
Hwayugi - humans getting mixed up with immortals. There us a lot of chemistry in the cast and the dialogue gives a lot to chuckle at. - u/SomedaySomedayToday

-
19. Queen In Hyun's Man
Korean Drama - 2012, 16 episodes
Queen In Hyun's man, Joseon guy keeps being transported into the present thanks to a talisman. I particularly liked this one because he is very smart and doesn't spend ages being amazed by the present, instead he works out how he can change the past to his advantage with the information he can get from the future. - u/GSV_Zero_Gravitas
It's very good! There's a lot of back and forth of "will they? won't they?" towards the end, which is great if you're the sort of person who likes to be put through the emotional wringer. Also <3 Yoo In-na - u/OlderThanGif
Queen In-Hyun's Man - A man from the Joseon period ends up time travelling to the modern world and meets the FL who is an actress playing the part of Queen In-Hyun, the person whom the ML is trying to save in the past. It's a cute sci-fi romance wherein the main couple is goals. The plot moves at a fast pace and the time travelling rules are pretty simple. It's an easy watch and just a very wholesome drama. It does get a bit boring in the Joseon parts but it's still entertaining. - u/Fatooz

20. I'm Not a Robot
Korean Drama - 2017, 32 episodes
I'm Not a Robot - Young woman pretends to be a robot when an android modeled after her malfunctions. Comedy of errors. - u/fdunhio
I'm Not a Robot - This is a sci-fi-ish rom-com. The ML wants an android robot and the robot ends up getting swapped with the FL. I know it sounds rubbish but it's actually such an easy watch. It makes you cry, laugh at all the ridiculousness and also makes you smile at all the swoon worthy scenes. A lovely watch when you want to just enjoy a cute drama without using your brain cells. - u/Fatooz
I'm not a robot - ML is a lonely rich man with a health condition that doesn't let him be in close contact with other humans. He orders a robot which looks really life-like, but behind-the-scenes, the robot malfunctions right before it needs to be sent to the ML. Enters FL to replace the robot which was modelled after her to buy some time for the robots' creators to fix the robot. This drama explores loneliness in a really touching and humorous way. - u/AddictedReader99

23. Big
Korean Drama - 2012, 16 episodes
Big - body/soul switcharoo and falling in love. A lot of people are not a fan of this one. But if you’re going in expecting it to be cutesy and an easy watch, then you’ll enjoy it. And I mean you can’t go wrong with Gong Yoo. - u/PhoRealYo

24. Nine: Nine Times Time Travel
Korean Drama - 2013, 20 episodes
The plot is so well thought out. To me, it’s a classic, right up there with Signal. - u/millyforest
Nine Times Time Travel might suit your taste. It's a suspense drama about time-travelling. But it's not your usual time-travel drama. I know that there's been hype for these for a few years now but this one is like one of the pioneers in this genre, so the plot revolves around time-travelling rather than just using it as one of the plot devices. It also has fast-paced romance, just how you like it. I recommend it if you want to see a truly gripping show that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I mean, it's been years since I've seen it and it stays as one of my favorites. - u/peachfriday

25. Secret Garden
Korean Drama - 2010, 20 episodes
Secret Garden - The good ol' body swap drama. It is about a snob chaebol who ends up getting switched with a stubborn stunt woman with a very sweet center. - u/Kordiana
Secret Garden is a classic and one of my all-time favorite dramas. It’s more of a sweet, rich guy/poor girl romance, with a bit of supernatural fun thrown in. - u/sierra-like-the-mist
Secret Garden - Another fantasy drama wherein the ML is an absolute jerk to the FL but the FL can't help but fall for him. It's yet another one of those rich ML poor FL dramas but with a fantasy twist. The best part about the drama is the body swap between the main leads. The acting of both the actors during the body swap was on point and hilarious, especially Hyun Bin. It's a funny drama if you ignore the problematic parts and enjoy without taking it too seriously. - u/Fatooz

And yes, we do get a happy ending! - u/imerremi
Are You Human Too? is soo bingeable and he's the most adorable, flirty robot ever. Seo Kang Joon's facial movements and inflections are so impressively slight, indicating which role he's playing. - u/pvtshame

I started watching it and I'm absolutely hooked. It's an occult drama where the main character, basically feels like his dreams can never come true and is poor, sells his soul to the devil to become everything he ever wanted. However, it's only for 10 years. Then, he has to give up soul and his new lifestyle but instead makes a new deal with the devil to buy more time. 30. Faith
Korean Drama - 2012, 24 episodes
Faith: A bodyguard from Goryeo travels in time and kidnaps a sassy modern-day surgeon to save his dying king. It's got swoon-worthy leads and a sweet romance plot along with lots of political turmoil, sword fighting and court intrigue. It isn't the most well-balanced show in terms of plot development and execution, but it has it's moments that make it worth a watch when you have nothing else on your plate. - u/surreal_strawberry
I really liked Faith. It might just be because I like almost any show with timetravel but who knows - u/minlegacy

Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes

Another thing is... what if she's not the only one who could see them? How can she stop her death along with other people who could see the future? - u/Thundergod250
While You Were Sleeping - There is enough mystery to keep us guessing, beginning with mysterious dreams by the heroine that always come true. Two other characters come into play, and begin to have their own mysterious dreams. The cast is fantastic (Lee Jong Suk, Suzy, Jung Hae In). - u/elynwen

50. The King: Eternal Monarch
Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes
The King: Eternal Monarch -This is a sci-fi romance thriller. To be honest, this drama is not for everyone. It's pretty different from your usual KDramas and gives more of western sci-fi drama vibes. It's difficult to get into but it's one of those dramas that becomes better after the first 6 episodes. So you need to be patient with it. There were many iconic moments in this drama. It's kind of a package, sometimes it'll give you an epic feel, sometimes a matured romance, sometimes great action and most of the times lots and lots of material for thinking. It has great cinematography and soundtrack. It's far from perfect but it's still a entertaining watch. The main leads had great chemistry and the bromance between the two MLs was amazing too. - u/Fatooz

As she does this she ends up changing history without anyone remembering her in the history books. It's a fun watch in the first half and a sob fest in the second half. If you like the 'bad boy turns good after meeting the good girl' trope then you will enjoy this for sure. Also it has an ensemble cast so there's quite some eye candy making it easier to watch. Top this all with a solid soundtrack. - u/Fatooz

Korean Drama - 2020, 12 episodes
Mystic Pop-Up Bar - This is another fantasy drama which is super wholesome and warm. It's just 12 episodes and might give you Hotel Del Luna vibes but I personally loved it a lot more than HDL. The FL is badass yet manages to portray so many emotions. The main trio is absolute goals and I loved their bonding. A Piece of Your Mind - ML tries to get over the death of his childhood love by making a duplicate of that person's mind using their voice. FL came to know that person because of ML. 60. Arthdal Chronicles Part 1: The Children of Prophecy
Korean Drama - 2019, 6 episodes
ARTHDAL CHRONICLES!! It is so underrated but probably the best fantasy drama I have ever watched (kdrama or not)
Arthdal Chronicles (staring Song Joong Ki and Kim Ji Won) is a historical/ fantasy drama set in the bronze age in an ancient kingdom called Arthdal. It is so unique because I've never seen a historical drama set in this time period and the plot and worldbuilding are absolutely incredible. As an avid reader, I rarely see worldbuilding in shows or movies that compare to a good fantasy novel, but this show has worldbuilding comparable to a Brandon Sanderson book (and that is saying something). The cast is top notch, the setting and cinematography are beautiful, and the OST (Poem of Destiny by Ailee) is literally the most beautifully intense and unique drama OST out there. I 10000/10 recommend this show to EVERYONE! - u/ConfidentRead3
