He made his debut in 2011 as N-Sonic's leader and vocalist with their digital single "We Are SuperBoys." After debuting in Korea, C2K Entertainment (C2K 엔터테인먼트) decided to have them promote in Japan and China. In late 2015, he made his solo debut with the single "Call My Name."
On May 9, 2016, N-Sonic returned from several concerts in Japan and decided to boycott the agency, halting all communication with C2K. They also failed to show up to scheduled events in South Korea and later asked for the termination of their contracts before they were disbanded.
J.Heart opted to enlist in the military on May 26, 2016. While he was serving, the agency sued N-Sonic, asking for compensation for all the activities they had not shown up to. The court issued a verdict on June 22, 2017 in favor of the group members, ending their relationship with C2K. He continues to promote as an independent soloist.
In June 2022, J.Heart married YouTuber Rachel Kwon.
