After working at Central Arts, in 1978, he joined Kitty Films. In 1992, he became the president and representative director of the company. In 1995, when Kitty Enterprise was acquired by PolyGram and separated from the Kitty Group, he left and founded his own company, Kei Factory. After serving as president and chairman, he left the company in 2002.
On April 2, 2020, he passed away at a hospital in Kagoshima due to pancreatic cancer at the age of 84.
