Murakami Takashi is a Japanese contemporary artist known for his work in fine arts, including painting and sculpture, as well as in commercial media such as fashion, merchandise, and animation. He is the founder and President of Kaikai Kiki Co., Ltd., which manages several emerging artists, and was also the founder and organizer of the biannual art fair Geisai. Murakami's initial venture into filmmaking was with the movie "Jellyfish Eyes", for which he served as both the director and creator of the original story.
