  • Native name: 산이
  • Given name: Jung San
  • Also Known as: 정산, Jeong San,
  • Nationality: American

  • Born: January 23, 1985

Jung San, known professionally as San E, is an American rapper and producer. He was born in South Korea but his family moved to the United States when he was in middle school as they were struggling financially due to the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis. He is an American citizen and has never disclosed his real name, but as he is active in South Korea, he took the name Jung San.

Before debuting, he released two mixtapes, "Ready To Be Signed" and "Ready To Be Famous", in 2008 and 2009, respectively. In both tapes, he jokingly dissed rapper Verbal Jint, which drew attention from the South Korean hip-hop community and from Verbal Jint himself, who invited him to join his hip-hop crew OVERCLASS.

He made his Korean debut in 2008 when he featured in one track of Verbal Jint's album, "Framed". Then, he won Best Hip Hop Song at the 2010 Korean Music Awards for the track "Rap Genius" without being signed by any label.

He was finally signed by JYP Entertainment as the agency's first rapper and stayed with the company until April 2013. He then moved to Brand New Music (브랜뉴 뮤직) and achieved greater success with his next 4 singles. In late 2018, his contract was terminated by the agency after he made a series of controversial remarks about feminism.

In 2019, he established his own label, Fame Us (페임어스).
