Lee Hon To graduated from National Chengchi University in Taiwan in 1980 and returned to Hong Kong where he joined TVB as an assistant director before being promoted to director in 1985. He later joined ATV as a director and screenwriter in 1993. He went on to expand into the mainland market in 1998 and has since produced and directed dozens of TV series.
