Moon Tae Il is a South Korean singer, dancer and former member of NCT (엔시티) and its sub-units, NCT 127 (엔시티 127) and NCT U (엔시티 유). He graduated from Seoul Living Science High School and later dropped out of the Applied Music program at Hanyang University.

In October 2015, He was introduced as a member of SM Entertainment (SM엔터테인먼트) pre-debut team, SM Rookies. He later released the single "Because of You", an OST for the TV series "The Merchant: Gaekju 2015" (장사의 신 – 객주 2015).

He made his debut in April 2016 as part of NCT's rotational subgroup, NCT U, with their first single, "Without You". Then, in July 2016, he debuted as part of the second sub-unit of NCT, NCT 127, with their first EP, "NCT#127".

He then continued promoting as a solo artist and switching between NCT sub-units. He also collaborated with other SM artists and broke the Guinness World Record for the fastest to reach 1 million followers on Instagram in July 2020.

In August 2023, he was involved in a car accident in downtown Seoul while returning home by motorcycle. He temporarily suspended his schedule to focus on treatment and recovery but returned a few months later.

However, on August 28th, 2024, SM Entertainment suddenly announced his dismissal from the group following a police report where he was charged with a criminal case related to sexual offenses. His exclusive contract with SM Entertainment was terminated on October 15, 2024.
