After graduating from the Business Correspondence Department of Chihlee Institute of Technology in 1988, Chaw signed with Universal Music and released her debut album "Say a Little More". She later moved to Rock Records in 1993, where she also entered a romantic relationship with producer Li Cheng Fan.
In 1996, she signed with PolyGram, and her relationship with Li Cheng Fan ended. Chaw joined Sony BMG in 2000 but released only one album before gradually stepping away from the music industry.
