Star Empire Entertainment (스타제국) and the company's CEO, Shin Ju Hak, wanted to introduce the concept of a rotating lineup with all the members being active in different fields. The original lineup was chosen through Mnet's reality show "Children of the Empire". However, they faced constant lineup changes as members were changed almost every year.
She made her debut in October 2010 replacing departing member Jae Kyung as the group's new lead vocalist. The group had debuted 3 months before and she joined during the promotional period of their debut single album. Her first official work was the digital single "Figaro", released in August 2011.
In June 2014, she became the group's new leader following Sera's departure. And, in October 2016, her contract expired and by mutual agreement, she "graduated" from 9MUSES after 6 years of activities.
She made her debut as a solo artist in March 2017 with the digital single album, "Cricket Song" and married her non-celebrity boyfriend in August of that year.
In April 2022, she re-debuted as part of the duo ME:US (with former group mate Pyo Hye Mi) with the digital single, "Memories". Unfortunately, A Flat Entertainment declared bankruptcy some time later and the company closed in mid-2023, effectively disbanding the duo.
She is now represented by Daynite Record, her husband's agency.
In December 2023, there were conversations of a possible 9MUSES comeback but nothing has materialized since then.
