Naito Eisuke, born in Aichi Prefecture in 1982, graduated from the Film School of Tokyo and subsequently began directing independent movies while working as a teacher at a special education school. His short film The Prince of Milk (2008) was invited to Nippon Connection in 2010 and also to many other international film festivals. Let's Make the Teacher Have a Miscarriage Club (2011 / NC ’11), Naito's feature length debut, sparked controversy, not only due to its title. Recently, with Lychee Light Club (2016) and Liverleaf (2018), he also directed manga adaptations.
