Oh Hyun Kyung was the first KBS recruitment talent and ushered in the 1960s TV drama era. He became known for his role as Lee Jang Soo in the drama "Sun Tzu's Art of War," and won numerous awards, including the grand prize in the theater category at the Korean Culture Awards, the KBS Acting Awards, and the Seoul Theater Festival's Male Actor Award. In 2013, he was elected as a member of the Korean Academy of Arts.

The late actor briefly stopped acting due to esophageal and stomach cancer, but returned to the theater stage in 2008 and enjoyed another heyday. Until recently, he participated in "Les Misérables" (2020) and "Snow in March" (2018), and in May last year, he briefly appeared in "A Midsummer Night's Dream," a joint performance of alumni and current students put on by the Yonsei Institute of Theater Arts, which became his last work.

He was the husband of late actress Yoon So Jung and is survived by his daughter, Oh Ji Hye, an actress, and son, Oh Se Ho.
