After the war, he suffered from lung disease due to his chest hit on the stage and lived in a sanatorium. During that time, he joined the theater company Mingei, and in 1953, he went to the studio from a sanatorium to play a bit part in "Before Dawn" co-produced by Mingei and the Kindai Eiga Kyokai.
On the stage, he appeared in "Fishing Port" and "Referee", and in 1961, he won the Arts Festival Encouragement Award for his performance in "Cage". He directed in "About the Harm of Tobacco" in 1977. This unusual old man role had a unique taste.
