Born in Taiwan, Xi Juan is one of the most prolific and popular writers in modern China. The writer’s real name is Wu Zhen Ying, but she began using the pen name when she started writing. Xi Juan’s Chinese romance novels were first published in 1993 and, since then, she has published between three and seven books a year. 1994 was her most prolific year, while 1995 saw the publication of one of her most famous books, 上錯花轎嫁對郎 (Wrong Bridal Sedan But Right Bridegroom), which was adapted into different TV series.
