In 2004, while still a high school student, Matsushima won the Special Jury Prize at "Miss Magazine 2004," marking her official debut in the gravure industry.
In October 2005, she joined "Miniskirt Police 7Teen" as its 13th generation member.
Following the dissolution of her previous agency, Anthem, in September 2008, Matsushima moved to Harmony Promotion.
On November 14, Matsushima married Yatsu Yatsuhiro of the comedy duo Elekicomics.
In April 2014, after her contract with Harmony Promotion ended, Hatsune joined G Office.
In 2021, Hatsune launched her own apparel brand, "Hatsunex" (ハツネックス).
