Shimozawa Kan

At the recommendation of his grandfather, he went on to Hakodate Government Commercial School but dropped out because the school was burned by the Great Fire of Hakodate in 1907, and fled to Sapporo with his grandfather. He graduated from the law department of Meiji University in 1914 after working at the former Hokkai Junior High School.
At first, he wanted to be a lawyer, but he returned home and worked for a timber company. He returned to Tokyo in 1918, worked for an electrician, and joined the Yomiuri Shimbun in 1919. In 1926, he moved to the Tokyo Nichi-Nichi Shimbun, and while working as a newspaper reporter, he compiled the interviews of the former Bakushin under the guidance of Osatake Takeki and published the 1928 "Shinsen Gumi Shushuki". After that, he published "Shinsengumi Trilogy" of "Shinsengumi Remembrance" and "Shinsengumi Monogatari", and was quoted by subsequent writers.
He died at his home in Kugenuma, Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture on July 19, 1968, due to myocardial infarction. Edit Biography
