Emi Suiin was a novelist, translator, and editor born in Ichibancho, Okayama City.

Starting with literary works, he left his works in a wide range of fields such as popular novels, detective novels, adventure novels, and expeditionary stories, and was involved in the editing and publishing of magazines at numerous publishers such as Kenyusha and Hakubunkan. His masterpieces include the novel "Nyobo Koroshi", "Chitei Tankenki", the essay "Jiko Chushin Meiji Bundanshi", and the adapted drama "Sei: Gekishitsu Washiro".

By recommendation of his uncle, he moved to Tokyo with the aim of becoming a soldier, but gradually became attracted to literature and gave up as a soldier at the age of 15. While attending Tokyo English School, he entered Shigetake Sugiura's praise school and published the doujinshi "Maishu Zasshi".

In addition to exploring the Nippara Limestone Cave and climbing Mt. Togakushi and Mt. Fuji in the snow, he also served as the chief editor of the Pacific Ocean, Boys'World, and Exploration World magazines, and announced the results of his own exploration. On the other hand, his autobiographical essay "Jiko Chushin Meiji Bundanshi" clearly describes the life of literary figures in the Meiji era and is valuable as a material for literary history.

In his later years, he traveled to various places for lectures, etc., and the record of his trip is detailed in "Suiin Angya Zenshu". On November 3, 1934, he died of acute pneumonia at an inn in Matsuyama, where he had traveled. Edit Biography
