By recommendation of his uncle, he moved to Tokyo with the aim of becoming a soldier, but gradually became attracted to literature and gave up as a soldier at the age of 15. While attending Tokyo English School, he entered Shigetake Sugiura's praise school and published the doujinshi "Maishu Zasshi".

On the other hand, his autobiographical essay "Jiko Chushin Meiji Bundanshi" clearly describes the life of literary figures in the Meiji era and is valuable as a material for literary history.
In his later years, he traveled to various places for lectures, etc., and the record of his trip is detailed in "Suiin Angya Zenshu". On November 3, 1934, he died of acute pneumonia at an inn in Matsuyama, where he had traveled. Edit Biography
