Kim Hee Kap was a South Korean comedian and actor. He graduated from Hoeryeong Public Commercial School and was later enrolled in the Commerce program at Meiji University in Japan before dropping out when he returned to Korea.

He worked behind the scenes at the Bando Theater Company as an assistant director. He suddenly made his debut in 1946 when the actor in the theatrical play "The Story of Jangwha Hongryeon" disappeared and he had to join as a stand-in.

He was nicknamed the "Korean Chaplin" and enjoyed great popularity in the 1960s and 1970s, especially after appearing in the 1967 movie, "Six Daughters" (팔도강산).

Later, he formed a comedy duo with Gu Bong Seo and continued his acting career, appearing in over 750 movies/dramas, theatrical plays. He is now recognized as one of the earliest all-round entertainers of Korean television.

He passed away on May 18, 1993, at the age of 69, at Seoul National University Hospital after battling pneumonia and arteriosclerosis.
