- Name: Ase Wang
- Native name: Ase Wang
- Nationality: Singaporean
- Gender: Female
- Born: November 26, 1981

Being of Chinese and Swedish descent, Ase is fluent in Swedish and English and speaks basic Mandarin and Thai. She had picked up the Thai language while establishing her media presence in Bangkok,[6] having also had a language coach present on sets to help her pronounce her lines.
Ase was born to a Singaporean Chinese father, John Wong Teck Fong and a Swedish mother, Inger Wang. She was raised in Singapore as an only child. Her family owns Phoon Huat, a large baking supplies business. At 15 years old, Ase was living alone and working at a local bar with aspirations to become a model.
Around that time, she met Russel Wong, an established Singaporean photographer who also happened to be her neighbour. Russel helped build Ase’s portfolio which landed her a role in the Mediacrop drama series, SPIN (2000) and a modelling contract with the Singaporean agency, Mannequin.
At 18 years old, Ase moved to Hong Kong to pursue a career in show business after seeing some success from SPIN (2000). Her parents had not provided any financial support. Eventually, Ase signed with Jackie Chan’s management, appearing in Aaron Kwok, Leon Lai and Edison Chen's music videos.
Ase was briefly a radio presenter from 2001 to 2002 at 98.7FM and manned the segment, ‘The Morning Show’. She was then scouted to act in the Thai horror flick, Sick Nurses (Suay Laak Sai) (2007). The movie was a success and Ase had her breakthrough as an international actress at 26 years old.
